In that special meaning, the 18th Hanoi Party Congress, taking place from October 15 to October 17, is an important political event of the Party Committee, government, armed forces and people of the capital.
With the motto "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Breakthrough - Development", the Congress is determined to promote the thousand-year tradition of civilization and heroism; unite to build a clean and strong Party Committee; pioneer in the new era; build a civilized, modern and happy capital; contribute significantly to the successful implementation of the country's two 100-year goals.
At 7:00 a.m. this morning (October 16), the 18th Hanoi Party Congress, term 2025-2030, officially opened and began its first working session.
According to the program, right after the opening ceremony, the Congress listened to the political report of the Hanoi Party Committee Executive Committee; Review report of the 18th City Party Committee Executive Committee, term 2020-2025. At the same time, delegates attending the Congress will spend time discussing in the hall.
In particular, the Congress is expected to listen to the speech of General Secretary To Lam.
The Congress will bring a strong renewable atmosphere
The 18th Hanoi Party Congress has 550 delegates attending, the oldest delegate is 79 years old, the youngest delegate is 31 years old.
Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Delegate Nguyen Van Thinh - Secretary of the Party Cell of Residential Group No. 7, Bo De Ward, 79 years old - the oldest delegate attending the Congress said he was honored to attend the 18th Hanoi City Party Congress, term 2025-2030.
The delegate highly appreciated the efforts and results in implementing the two-level local government model. The results after 3 months of implementation have brought joy and excitement to the people, because they have demonstrated revolutionary progress and innovation. Grassroots government must be the place to concretize policies and this model alone helps policies to be implemented more closely and effectively.
"As Secretary of the grassroots Party Cell in the residential group, I and the Party members of Party Cell 7 are always aware of our responsibilities. We regularly update socio-political information, instructions of the City Party Committee, of the Ward Party Committee, specify documents, contributing to making those policies come true in residential groups. This ensures that important resolutions of the Congress will be put into life in the fastest and most practical way," said Delegate Thinh.
According to the Delegate, one of the important goals included in the political report submitted to the Congress is"... to develop the Capital into a civilized, modern, and happy place". Delegate Thinh said: "Developing a civilized, modern, happy capital" or "a happy life" is a very practical, close goal, very true to the aspirations of the people. Because all policies must aim to improve the quality of life and people's satisfaction.
"On this occasion, I hope that the younger generations of Party members will continue the good traditions of previous generations to preserve, protect and build an increasingly developed country.
I believe that the Hanoi City Party Congress will bring a strong renewal atmosphere, helping the capital and the country transform, entering a new, more brilliant and better stage of development," said Delegate Thinh.
Delegate Nguyen Duy Tuan Minh - Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Head of the O Cho Dua Ward Police, the youngest Party member attending the Congress, said that the 18th Hanoi City Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030, is an important milestone for the Party Committee, government and people to successfully carry out the set goals and tasks to continue to steadily step on the new journey.
"I personally feel very honored, proud and responsible to be one of the delegates participating in this important event," said Delegate Minh.
With the position and role of Ward Police Chief, under the strong and close direction of the Party Committee, the City Police Board as well as the Ward Party Committee and government, Delegate Minh realized that he must always innovate, be creative, and apply scientific and technological achievements as well as digital transformation in ensuring political security, social order and safety; at the same time, tighten discipline and order associated with the responsibility of the head in all aspects of the unit's work.
In performing tasks in the new term, Delegate Minh said that he will develop and organize the implementation of plans to be proactive and drastic in fighting against crimes related to social order, enhancing the effectiveness of state management of security and order, effectively implementing fire prevention, fire fighting and rescue tasks, ensuring traffic safety and order, urban order, promoting administrative reform, improving the quality of public service.
Continue to promote the core role in ensuring security and order; proactively grasp the situation, advise on practice; strengthen mass mobilization work, close to the people, close to the people; closely coordinate with forces, promote the strength of the entire people in building a people's security posture from the grassroots.
"As the youngest delegate to the Congress, I hope that city leaders at all levels in the new term will pay attention to training and fostering the capital's youth in digital transformation, science and technology so that the younger generation can apply and apply them to daily activities to achieve the highest efficiency in work," said Delegate Minh.
