This morning (September 21), at the National Convention Center (Hanoi), the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee in coordination with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Vietnam Journalists Association held a ceremony to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 2525 - June 21, 2025).

Also attending were Politburo members: Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man. Also attending were Politburo members, Secretariat members, Central Party Executive Committee members, outstanding journalists, leaders of news agencies and newspapers.

Exactly a century ago, on June 21, 1925, in Guangzhou (China), President Ho Chi Minh founded Thanh Nien newspaper, marking the birth of Vietnam's revolutionary journalism - a new press line, associated with revolutionary ideals, serving the Fatherland and the People.
Since then, the Vietnamese revolutionary press has always accompanied the nation through all historical periods, fulfilling its mission of propagating and protecting Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh's ideology, the guidelines and policies of the Party and the State, and at the same time being an important bridge between the Party, the State and the People; encouraging patriotism, national solidarity, greatly contributing to the cause of national liberation, building and defending the Fatherland.
The past century has also recognized the remarkable maturity of the revolutionary press in terms of scale, type, technology and team. From secret handwritten newspapers, Vietnamese press today has transformed strongly, converging all types of modernity such as print newspapers, electronic newspapers, radio, television, multimedia press - meeting the requirements of the digital age.
The great contributions of the press have been recognized by the Party and the State with noble awards: Gold Star Medal, Ho Chi Minh Medal; a number of press agencies were awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces, Hero of Labor in the renovation period; many journalists and photographers were awarded the Ho Chi Minh Prize, State Prize... This is a worthy recognition and motivation for the press to continue to develop, worthy of the trust and expectations of the Party, State and People.
The soldiers on the ideological front today constantly practice virtue, practice their talents, master modern journalism technology, actively convey the policies and guidelines of the Party and State, introduce the beauty of Vietnamese culture and people and the achievements of the renovation process to international friends.
Mr. Le Quoc Minh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association - said that the 100th Anniversary of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day took place at a special time: the country is facing a historic opportunity to make a breakthrough. The streamlining of the press organization and arrangement according to Resolution 18-NQ/TW is being strongly implemented.
This is the time for the press to comprehensively innovate, build a streamlined, professional team, adapt to digital transformation and international integration, contributing to creating a new look and new stature for the national press in the era of national development.
