Opening the series of activities to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press, concluding the national scientific conference "100 years of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press accompanying the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation" on May 30, 2025, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department Nguyen Trong Nghia emphasized: The glorious journey of the past century of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press was opened with the event of leader Nguyen Ai Quoc founding the Youth Newspaper on June 21, 1925. After its establishment, Thanh Nien Newspaper has successfully completed the task of disseminating revolutionary ideology to the widely disadvantaged people and the working class, contributing to the political, ideological, organizational and ethical preparation for the birth of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
Under the leadership of the Party, revolutionary press has overcome countless difficulties and hardships, fostered confidence, fueled the revolutionary passion in each generation of Vietnamese people, created the strength of great solidarity between classes and classes, contributing to the complete victory of the struggle for national independence. In the struggles to liberate the nation, unify the country and the subsequent wars to protect the Fatherland, the press has shown steadfast political will, becoming a "sharpened weapon" on the ideological and cultural front.
In nearly 40 years of renovation, the role of the press has been increasingly clearly demonstrated in propagating and encouraging the entire people and army to successfully implement the renovation guidelines initiated and led by our Party. The press promptly reflects advanced models, good experiences, good lessons from individuals, units, and localities, opening up the current context, identifying difficulties, highlighting opportunities, as well as new challenges and requirements facing the revolutionary cause in general, journalism in particular, requiring us to be unanimous, determined to make great efforts, constantly innovate and be creative to bring the revolutionary press to rise up with the nation in the new era.

The mark cannot be erased ( Prof. Dr. Ta Ngoc Tan - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council)
With the first milestone being Thanh Nien Newspaper - the mouthpiece of the Vietnam Youth Revolution Association, the predecessor of the Communist Party of Vietnam, founded by Nguyen Ai Quoc, published in the first issue in the national language, issued on June 21, 1925, the revolutionary press was born as a historical necessity, meeting the urgent needs of the process of mobilizing the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
During the development process over the past 100 years, the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press has been loyal to the principles and goals set from the beginning, becoming a sharp weapon, accompanying the nation in the arduous and sacrificed struggle to overthrow the domination of the French colonialists, repelling the powerful invading army of the Japanese Imperialists, the French Imperialists and the American Imperialists, for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, as well as in the cause of building and developing the country for the happiness of the people, creating glorious and proud stories.
In the process of building socialism after the country's reunification in 1975, revolutionary press truly plays the role of a bridge between the Party, State and people; a tool for leadership and organization of the implementation of goals and strategies; a weapon for fighting against corruption, waste and negativity; a weapon for political and ideological struggle, protecting the Party, protecting the State, protecting the people, and protecting the regime. In any field or strategic task, the press has made great contributions, leaving unforgettable impressions.
In the cause of national construction and defense in peacetime, journalism is a bridge between Vietnam and the world, contributing to spreading national cultural values to the world; at the same time, selectively exchanging and receiving the cultural quintessence of the nation in the world. With the rapid development of the press and media system, especially the rapid development of information technology and the opening of internet connection in our country since 1997, our press and media have integrated globally very quickly, becoming a part closely associated with the global media network.

Social criticism press to create consensus ( Associate Professor, Dr. Do Chi Nghia - full-time member of the National Assembly's Committee on Culture and Society)
Journalism is a popular medium of communication with strong social impact, an effective tool on the front line of ideological work. Throughout the past 100 years, the Vietnam Revolutionary Press has made many great contributions to the cause of national liberation as well as promoting socio-economic development, gathering and uniting the entire nation in the cause of building and defending the socialist Fatherland of Vietnam.
Journalism honestly reflects life, closer to life, self- journalism has more appeal, more vitality in the hearts of the public. Critical press not only reported news but also created space for multi-faceted criticism. These debates are necessary to explore the issues more deeply, help the community better understand and from there find common solutions.
Debate in the press is not to create conflicts, deepen disagreements or push the parties away from each other. On the contrary, the highest goal of social criticism in the press is to find common ground, towards consensus, on the basis of a clear and comprehensive awareness of the issue.
Journalism is a forum for the masses, social criticism in journalism needs to aim at proposing solutions, giving advice, overcoming shortcomings and bottlenecks as we always say is necessary. When proposing solutions, journalists and press agencies have put themselves in the "difficulty" of management agencies and clearly expressed their determination to reach the ultimate goal of removing and resolving problems arising in practice.
Looking back at the 100-year history of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press, social criticism seems to have belonged to the press, a responsibility that the revolutionary press is entrusted to by the Party, State and people.

Exploiting and applying artificial intelligence (AI) in press activities in Vietnam (PGS.TS. Vu Trong Lam - Director, Editor-in-Chief of the National Political Publishing House Truth)
In Vietnam, most press agencies and types of press are actively welcoming and applying the achievements of the fourth industrial revolution with the determination to make breakthroughs in the development of science, technology, innovation, digital transformation, including the construction and application of artificial intelligence, innovation of systems and mechanisms, and integration of resources to increase productivity and efficiency of press activities. New smart technologies and new products of press agencies created through the use of AI have appeared one by one.
Many press agencies such as VnExpess Electronic Newspaper, Dan Tri Electronic Newspaper, Nhan Dan Electronic Newspaper, Thanh Nien, Lao Dong Online... have used AI to support the production of graphic products, articles, programs; apply AI technology to turn press products from text to spoken newspaper versions with many voices in different regions; analyze data on user habits to automatically propose content according to user preferences; filter and respond to comments according to the orientation of press agencies; build virtual program guides, virtual editors with the use of thousands of face-to-face exercises, expressive movements, and facial sentences to analyze and match the content, language, and nuances expressed in the newsletter, helping to increase the user experience.
Some solutions to guide the development of the application of artificial intelligence technology in Vietnamese press activities in the coming time are: First, build a national strategy on transforming the model of press and communication activities on the basis of breakthrough development of science - technology, innovation, digital transformation, in which artificial intelligence technology is the core, contributing to improving information - ideology. Second, build and perfect policies and legal regulations to create a standardized press and communication ecosystem in the era of artificial intelligence. Third, encourage initiatives and promote the extensive application of new technologies in press activities. Fourth, training human resources for multimedia journalism.
