General Secretary To Lam was pleased with the positive development of the Vietnam - Denmark Comprehensive Partnership (established in 2013) and the Green Strategic Partnership between the two countries (established in November 2023), which are the driving forces for the strong development of the bilateral relationship in all fields in the direction of green and sustainable development.
General Secretary To Lam stated that Vietnam focuses on developing infrastructure, including seaports, with a green orientation to serve the goal of sustainable development.
Recognizing the Group's vision of building green ports and transportation, and welcoming the Group's investment expansion plan in Vietnam in developing green, smart seaport systems, logistics services, etc., General Secretary To Lam encouraged the Group to invest in areas such as the marine economy, while affirming that Vietnam is always ready to facilitate foreign investors to develop logistics projects, connect regions, large cities, domestic industrial parks and the world; emphasizing that Vietnam is in the group of 20 economies with the largest international trade scale in the world and is promoting the development of synchronous, widespread and smooth transport infrastructure to increase the competitiveness of the Vietnamese economy.
For his part, General Director of A.P. Moller - Maersk, Mr. Vincent Clerc expressed his honor and sincerely thanked General Secretary To Lam for taking the time to visit the delegation; expressed his impression of Vietnam's economic development achievements in the context of many difficulties and challenges in the world
Sharing about the Group's vision, strategy and investment and business plan in the world, Mr. Vincent Clerc emphasized that Vietnam continues to be an important partner of the Group; said that the Group's ships have docked in Vietnam for the first time more than a century ago.
Mr. Vincent Clerc reported and updated information on cooperation activities and achievements with partners in Vietnam, as well as Maersk's strategic transformation process in Vietnam with the vision of connecting with production and logistics centers around the world, contributing to helping Vietnam participate more deeply in global supply chains.
He expressed the Group's desire to learn about investment opportunities to build large, modern and green container ports as well as strategic logistics projects in Vietnam, thereby supporting Vietnam in increasing import-export turnover and sustainable economic growth, transitioning to a low-carbon economy, adapting to climate change and soon achieving the net emission target of 10:0; said that the Group sees many potential and great opportunities in Vietnam and wishes to contribute more to the development of Vietnam.
