On the morning of November 19, passenger transport operators on the Phan Thiet - Phu Quy island route said that they had announced a temporary suspension of operations for many days due to bad weather.
The Trung Trac high-speed train temporarily suspends all trips and returns from today (November 19) to the end of November 26. The Superdong Phu Quy high-speed ship with 2 ships operating this route also announced that it will stop running from November 20 to November 22.

According to shipowners, the strong northeast monsoon is causing waves to be over 4m high, not ensuring safety for the journey. Therefore, the suspension of operations is necessary to ensure absolute safety for passengers.
The notice of temporary suspension of operations was issued 1-2 days in advance so that passengers who have booked tickets and have just left Phu Quy Island can proactively plan their schedules to avoid having to stay on the island for many more days due to the temporary suspension of the high-speed train.
Phu Quy Special Zone is 56 nautical miles from the mainland, travel time by high-speed train is about 2.5 hours. At the end of the year, especially from November, this area enters the Bac wind season.
This is the period when the Northeast wind blows strongly, often accompanied by high waves and rough seas, making it difficult for passengers to get bored with waves and the journey.
