On the morning of October 11, General Secretary To Lam and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation arrived in Hanoi, successfully concluding their state visit to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and attending the 80th anniversary of the founding of the North Korean Labor Party from October 9-11, 2025, at the invitation of North Korean President Kim Jong Un.
Welcoming General Secretary To Lam and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation at the airport, on the North Korean side were: Alternate Politburo member, State Affairs member, Head of the International Committee - Central Executive Committee of the North Korean Labor Party Kim Song Nam; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of North Korea Im Chon In.
On the Vietnamese side, there were: Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to North Korea Le Ba Vinh; representatives of the staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in North Korea.
At the meeting, in an atmosphere of sincerity, friendship and openness, the two leaders discussed the overall situation of each country, Vietnam - North Korea relations and international and regional issues of mutual concern.
General Secretary To Lam and President of the Republic of Korea Kim Jong Un reviewed and expressed their appreciation for the traditional friendship between the two Parties and the two countries, which was personally built by President Ho Chi Minh and President Kim Nhat Thanh, and the generations of leaders of both sides who have worked hard to foster, inherit and promote; and the wholehearted and wholehearted support for each other in the difficult revolutionary years.
The two leaders expressed their delight at the continued consolidation and strengthening of the relationship between the two Parties and the two countries.
The two sides agreed to increase exchanges of high-level delegations and all levels on Party, State, Government, National Assembly, and local cooperation channels to enhance experience sharing, strengthen political trust and mutual understanding; effectively maintain dialogue and cooperation mechanisms, study cooperation in appropriate fields; promote people-to-people exchanges, and strengthen friendship between the two countries.
General Secretary To Lam also hopes that the two sides will expand their strengths in cooperation areas with great potential such as culture, sports, tourism, education, health, information and communication, and building radio and television programs introducing the culture, country and people of each country.
Appreciating and approving the cooperation proposals of General Secretary To Lam, North Korean President Kim Jong Un affirmed that North Korea wishes to cooperate closely with Vietnam in Party building and national development, and is ready to promote cooperation in many appropriate fields.
The two leaders discussed regional and international situations, agreed to strengthen cooperation, support each other and coordinate at multilateral forums such as the United Nations, the ASEAN Regional Forum, etc.
The state visit of General Secretary To Lam and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation this time is an important milestone, contributing to further improving the effectiveness of bilateral cooperation between the two Parties and countries, meeting the aspirations and wishes of the people of the two countries while contributing to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
