On November 15, the Traffic Police Department said that on November 14, during a working trip to Hai Phong, General Secretary To Lam inspected the activities of a patrol boat provided by the Korean Coast Guard to the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and assigned to the Traffic Police Department's patrol boat fleet.
Accompanying General Secretary To Lam was General Luong Tam Quang - Politburo member and Minister of Public Security.
Speaking at the inspection, General Secretary To Lam directed many contents on the modernization of equipment at the Traffic Police Department in particular and the Traffic Police force in general, such as increasing the application of science and technology in ensuring traffic order and safety, using modern equipment, and moving towards modernizing the Traffic Police force.
The General Secretary emphasized that the solutions must "take people as the center, subject, goal and driving force for development, all activities must be directed towards people to strengthen the management of traffic safety and order"...
On behalf of the Traffic Police force, Major General Nguyen Van Minh - Deputy Director of the Traffic Police Department - received the instructions of General Secretary To Lam to advise the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security on solutions to modernize the Traffic Police force.
