At the meeting, Nghe An Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Duc Trung reported on the outstanding results in implementing the Party's resolutions. Accordingly, in the period of 2021-2024, Nghe An will achieve an average GRDP growth rate of 7.89%/year; GRDP in 2024 is estimated to reach more than 216.9 trillion VND, an increase of 1.5 times compared to 2020, ranking 10th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide. GRDP per capita reached 62.5 million VND.
Total budget revenue for this period reached nearly VND 89,500 billion, an average increase of 9.4%/year; attracting outstanding FDI with a total registered capital of more than 4.8 billion USD in three years, 4.5 times higher than before 2020.
The fields of culture, education, and health continue to have many positive changes. The national and international excellent student ratio is always among the top in the country. Social security work has been promoted, with more than 16,200 new houses built and repaired for the poor, reaching 76.5% of the plan for the period 2023-2025.
Regarding the work of building the Party and the political system, Nghe An Provincial Party Committee seriously and synchronously implements the contents of politics, ideology, ethics, organization and cadres. Inspection, supervision and anti-corruption work has been vigorously implemented. The arrangement of commune-level administrative units has achieved remarkable results: from 412 units, after the merger, there will be 130 units, a decrease of 68.45%, creating consensus among cadres, party members and people.
Nghe An Provincial Party Committee is closely directing the preparation for Party congresses at all levels, developing personnel plans, arranging the organization and apparatus and effectively using public assets, striving to achieve a GRDP growth rate of 10.5% in 2025. In the first quarter of 2025, the province's GRDP is estimated to reach 8% - the highest level in the past 5 years.
