Milestone in the 96-year history of the Communist Party of Vietnam
At the international press conference on the afternoon of January 23 right after the closing session of the 14th Party Congress, General Secretary To Lam chaired and exchanged with the press about the results of the Congress.
The press conference was attended by many press agencies and news agencies both at home and abroad.
Also attending the press conference were Politburo members: Standing Secretary of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu, Head of the Central Organization Committee Le Minh Hung, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee Trinh Van Quyet, Chief of the Central Office Pham Gia Tuc, Standing Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics Doan Minh Huan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung. Also attending were Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Lam Thi Phuong Thanh.
Opening the press conference, General Secretary To Lam spoke to welcome and inform about the results of the 14th Party Congress. The General Secretary said he was very pleased to meet with journalists and reporters at home and abroad who participated in reporting on the Congress.
The General Secretary thanked reporters for continuously providing information about the Congress so that people and overseas Vietnamese can promptly grasp the developments, programs and success of the Congress.
Up to this point, the 14th Congress is a resounding success, a very good success. This is a milestone in the 96-year history of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the historical flow of the Vietnamese nation with thousands of years of civilization and heroism.
The General Secretary summarized the "keywords" of the Congress: "Unity - Democracy - Discipline - Breakthrough - Development - Responsibility - Enthusiasm - Wisdom - Science - For the people - Strategic Autonomy - Self-reliance - Confidence - National pride for a peaceful, independent, democratic, prosperous, civilized, happy, steadily advancing towards socialism Vietnam.

Carrying heavy responsibilities before the Party, before the people
The General Secretary emphasized that the 14th Congress of the Party is truly a Congress of solidarity and unity, showing the will, bravery, aspiration, determination, strength and culture of the Vietnamese nation, of the Communist Party of Vietnam in the new development phase of the country.
The 14th Congress not only highly agreed on the content of the documents and the action program of the Congress, but also highly agreed, very focused on the selection of personnel of the 14th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
The Congress elected the Central Executive Committee consisting of 200 comrades, of which 180 comrades are official members and 20 comrades are alternate members.
After that, the Party Central Committee elected the Politburo, elected the General Secretary, elected the Secretariat and leading agencies of the Party such as the Central Inspection Committee, the Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee, and assigned comrades from the Politburo and the Secretariat to participate in the work.
The General Secretary emphasized that the members of the 14th Central Committee of the Party are typical representatives of about 5.6 million Party members of the Communist Party of Vietnam, meeting all standards of qualities, ethics, prestige, capacity, qualifications and being highly trusted by the Congress, elected to the Party's leadership agencies between the 2 Congresses, to shoulder the responsibility before the Party and the people in the new revolutionary period.
According to the General Secretary, the Congress has oriented the construction of the Central Executive Committee, the Politburo, the Secretariat, especially the leaders of the Party and the State of the 14th term as a clean, strong collective, truly united, highly unified in will and action, showing pioneering, exemplary, combative, action-oriented, disciplined nature, daring to sacrifice for the noble cause of the Party, for the prosperous and happy life of the people.
The Congress also agreed to make historic decisions to successfully implement the two 100-year strategic goals that the 13th Party Congress had identified.
We also believe that with the strength of the nation's historical roots, with the long tradition of nearly a century of leading Vietnam of the Communist Party of Vietnam, with the support and joint efforts of the entire people, with the encouragement and cooperation of a large number of international friends and progressive people around the world, we will definitely successfully implement the resolution of the 14th National Party Congress, and will definitely successfully build a socialist Vietnam of peace, independence, democracy, prosperity, civilization and happiness" - General Secretary To Lam said.
