On the afternoon of January 23, the 14th Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam held a closing session at the National Convention Center, Hanoi Capital. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, on behalf of the Presidium, chaired the closing session of the Congress.
Attending the closing session of the Congress were guest delegates who are former Party and State leaders, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and former members of the Party Central Committee from term IV to term VIII; delegates who are Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, intellectuals, artists, typical religious dignitaries, and typical youth.
Also attending the closing session of the Congress were ambassadors, representatives of countries and heads of diplomatic delegations and international organizations in Vietnam.
Comrade Le Quoc Minh, on behalf of the Secretariat Delegation, presented the Notice on congratulatory telegrams from political parties, organizations, international friends and overseas Vietnamese sent to the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
From the opening session to now, the Congress has received an additional 339 congratulatory letters and telegrams, including 58 political parties, 11 international and regional organizations, 62 individuals, 120 people's organizations, foreign localities and 88 Vietnamese associations abroad.
Comrade Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, on behalf of the Presidium and the entire Congress, thanked the political parties, organizations, international friends and overseas Vietnamese for sending telegrams and letters congratulating the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
Comrade Tran Thanh Man - Member of the Politburo, Chairman of the National Assembly, on behalf of the Presidium, reported on the election results of the Politburo, General Secretary, Secretariat, Central Inspection Committee, and Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee.
The 14th Central Executive Committee of the Party has absolutely unanimously elected Comrade To Lam, General Secretary of the 13th Central Executive Committee of the Party, to continue holding the position of General Secretary of the 14th Central Executive Committee of the Party.
The 14th Central Executive Committee of the Party launched the Congress. Comrade To Lam - General Secretary of the 14th Central Executive Committee of the Party, on behalf of the 14th Central Executive Committee of the Party, expressed his opinion.
The Congress presented flowers, acknowledged and thanked the contributions of the members of the 13th Party Central Committee who did not re-elect the 14th Party Central Committee.
Comrade Tran Cam Tu, Member of the 14th Politburo, Standing Secretary of the Secretariat, on behalf of the Presidium, reported on the reception and explanation of the Presidium's opinions on the discussion of draft documents and the Review Report on the leadership and direction of the 13th Party Central Committee to be submitted to the 14th National Party Congress.
Comrade Pham Gia Tuc - Member of the 14th Politburo, Chief of the Party Central Committee Office, Head of the Secretariat presented the draft Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress.
The Congress voted with 100% of delegates agreeing to pass the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress.
Comrade To Lam, General Secretary of the 14th Central Committee of the Party, delivered the Speech at the Closing of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
The 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam was very successful.
The Congress calls on the entire Party, people, and army of the country, and our compatriots abroad to highly promote patriotism, civic responsibility, and development aspirations; each agency, unit, organization, and individual should start with the most specific tasks, contributing to bringing our country to develop day by day; our people to become more prosperous and happy; Vietnam to become stronger and stronger day by day, standing shoulder to shoulder with the five continental powers as Uncle Ho always wished.
