According to VNA, on the morning of February 19 (local time), at the invitation of US President Donald Trump, Chairman of the Peace Council on the Gaza Strip, General Secretary To Lam attended the opening meeting of the Peace Council on the Gaza Strip.
The meeting was attended by heads of state and leaders of more than 50 countries, who are founding members and observers of the Peace Council.
Speaking at the event, US President Donald Trump emphasized that the Peace Council on the Gaza Strip is a coordination mechanism with the United Nations to coordinate humanitarian aid, reconstruction and regional stability.
The speakers presented the pillars for the transition period in the Gaza Strip, including restoring security with civilian police forces, economic recovery, sustainable relief and restoring basic public services.
In addition to the security stabilization plan, the Conference also listened to introductions to the reconstruction plans of the Gaza Strip, including clearing ruins, building 400,000 houses, developing hotel areas, establishing 5G networks, logistics systems and building open economic zones.

At the conference, 9 countries pledged to contribute 7 billion USD to support people in the Gaza Strip. The US pledged to contribute 10 billion USD to the Peace Council.
The World Bank also announced the establishment of the Gaza Reconstruction and Development Fund at the World Bank to support the management of donor contributions, and mobilize funding from governments as well as the private sector.
President Donald Trump highly appreciated General Secretary To Lam's participation in the conference, affirming his deep respect for Vietnam, an admirable country with an increasingly large role and influence.
Vietnam participates in the Peace Council on the Gaza Strip to contribute to ending the conflict in the Gaza Strip, protecting civilians, ensuring safe and unobstructed humanitarian access, rebuilding essential infrastructure, and promoting a credible political process towards a long-term and sustainable peace in the Middle East region.
Vietnam's consistent stance is that all disputes and conflicts must be resolved by peaceful means, on the basis of international law, the United Nations Charter, and respect for the fundamental rights and legitimate interests of the parties involved.
As a country that has experienced many wars and has received valuable assistance from the international community, with a sense of responsibility and goodwill, Vietnam is ready to closely coordinate with members of the Peace Council to participate within its capabilities in joint efforts to provide emergency humanitarian assistance, rebuild essential infrastructure and build trust between the parties.
Vietnam supports specific solutions to end the conflict, restore peace and security, rebuild and ensure the lives of people in the Gaza Strip and implement a comprehensive political process in accordance with international law and the United Nations Charter.
At the same time, to ensure sustainable peace and meet the rights of the people of the Gaza Strip, Vietnam wishes the implementation measures to ensure the participation of relevant parties, especially the Palestinian Authority.
