VNA reported that at 11:00 a.m. on August 5 (local time), the welcoming ceremony for Politburo member and President Luong Cuong and his wife, along with the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, to visit the State of the Egyptian Arab Republic, took place solemnly at the Presidential Palace in Cairo. Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi presided over the welcoming ceremony.
The car carrying President Luong Cuong and his wife entered the Presidential Palace in the welcoming music. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi welcomed the President and his wife at the parking lot.
Next, the President of Egypt respectfully invited the President to step up to the podium of honor. The military band played the national anthem of the two countries of Egypt and Vietnam.
At the end of the ceremony, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and President Luong Cuong warmly greeted and introduced the official members of the two countries present at the welcoming ceremony.
Immediately after the welcoming ceremony, President Luong Cuong and President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi had a small meeting and then led the high-ranking delegations of the two countries to hold official talks to discuss measures to contribute to deepening and efficiency bilateral relations.
President Luong Cuong's visit is an important foreign policy event of the two countries, of special significance, demonstrating the commitment to creating breakthroughs, elevating relations, strengthening political trust and further deepening traditional friendship, thereby creating momentum and opening a new phase of cooperation between Vietnam and Egypt.
