VNA reported that at 2:50 p.m. on August 3 local time (evening of the same day Vietnam time), the plane carrying Politburo member and President Luong Cuong and his wife, along with the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, arrived at the international airport in the capital Cairo, starting a state visit to the Egyptian Republic at the invitation of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi and his wife.
Welcoming President Luong Cuong and his wife Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation at Cairo International Airport to Egypt were Minister of Education and Training Mohammed Abdel Latif; Director of the Department of ceremony of the new Office of President Mohammad Yehia.

On the Vietnamese side were Vietnamese Ambassador to Egypt Nguyen Huy Dung and his wife; Vietnamese Ambassadors to Algeria, Morocco, Mozambique, South Africa, Nigeria, Indonesia; and officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Egypt.
President Luong Cuong's state visit took place in the context of the active development of Vietnam - Egypt relations; it is the first visit of a key Vietnamese leader to Egypt in 7 years.

This is an important foreign policy event of the two countries, of strategic significance, having a long-term impact on the development of Vietnam - Egypt relations in the context that both countries are entering a new era, a new era of development.
Through this visit, the leaders of the two sides hope to bring bilateral relations to new heights to open up new spaces with great potential and room for cooperation in friendship for a prosperous future, while building and better exploiting new cooperation mechanisms on the basis of respect for international law and independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and political institutions of each country.

During the visit, President Luong Cuong is expected to hold high-level talks with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi; meet with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, President of the Senate Abdel Wahab Abdel-Razek and President of the House of Representatives Hanafy El-Gebaly; deliver a policy speech at the headquarters of the Arab League (AL); meet with leaders of the Communist Party of Egypt and representatives of the left and progressive parties of Egypt.
On this occasion, the President also met with officials and staff of the Embassy and Vietnamese people living, studying and working in Egypt.
