Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee Nguyen Trong Nghia proposed that Ho Chi Minh City perfect the apparatus and improve the quality of cadres working in ethnic and religious affairs.

On June 16, the Central working delegation led by Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, Head of the Steering Committee for summarizing the projects of the Secretariat, had a working session with the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee on ethnic and religious work.

Speaking at the meeting, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee Nguyen Trong Nghia emphasized that the Party and State always identify the construction of the great national unity bloc and religious unity as a strategic, basic, long-term task, and at the same time an urgent requirement in the current situation. This is an important foundation to ensure political stability, socio-economic development and maintain national defense and security.

According to Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia, in recent times, the Party and State have issued many policies, laws and strategies to improve the material and spiritual life of ethnic minorities, while ensuring the people's freedom of belief and religion.

Recognizing the outstanding results of Ho Chi Minh City, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia highly appreciated the efforts of the Party Committee, government and socio-political organizations of the city in effectively implementing the policies and guidelines of the Party and State on ethnic and religious work.

Ho Chi Minh City has concretized policies into policies suitable to reality, meeting the legitimate needs of ethnic minorities and religions; thereby contributing to consolidating and promoting the strength of the great national unity bloc.

The city has also promoted the resources and potential of ethnic minorities and religious organizations, actively contributing to socio-economic development, maintaining security, national defense and international integration, affirming its role as the economic locomotive of the whole country.

To continue promoting the achieved results, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee Nguyen Trong Nghia suggested that Ho Chi Minh City strengthen propaganda, widespread dissemination and effectively implement the Party's guidelines and the State's laws and policies on ethnic groups and religions.

At the same time, it is necessary to pay attention to perfecting the organizational structure and improving the quality of the staff working in ethnic and religious work, especially in the context of Ho Chi Minh City implementing a 2-level local government model.

Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee Nguyen Trong Nghia also noted that Ho Chi Minh City continues to care for the lives of ethnic minorities and religious people, determined to help poor and near-poor households in the area escape poverty sustainably.

In addition, it is necessary to strengthen propaganda, mobilization, and struggle to defeat plots and tricks to divide the great national unity bloc and divide religions, contributing to maintaining political stability and sustainable development.
