On February 19, the People's Committee of Lang Son province held a conference to announce the Resolution of the Provincial People's Council on the establishment and reorganization of specialized agencies under the Provincial People's Committee, and at the same time announced the decisions of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee on personnel work.
At the conference, representatives of the Department of Home Affairs announced Resolution 04 dated February 18, 2025 of the Provincial People's Council on the establishment and reorganization of specialized agencies under the Provincial People's Committee.
Accordingly, from March 1, Lang Son province will establish 6 new specialized departments including the Department of Finance, which will merge the Department of Planning and Investment and the Department of Finance; the Department of Construction, which will merge the Department of Transport and the Department of Construction; the Department of Agriculture and Environment, which will merge the Department of Natural Resources and Environment and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.
The Department of Science and Technology merges the Department of Information and Communications and the Department of Science and Technology; the Department of Home Affairs merges the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs and the Department of Home Affairs. The Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions was established on the basis that the Ethnic Minorities Committee received additional functions and tasks of state management of beliefs and religions from the Department of Home Affairs.
In addition to the establishment of new departments, the Resolution also stipulates the reorganization of 5 specialized departments under the Provincial People's Committee.
Accordingly, the Department of Industry and Trade received the local Market Management Department from the Ministry of Industry and Trade and reorganized it into the Market Management Department.
The Department of Health receives the function of state management of social protection, children, and prevention of social evils.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism takes over the function of state management of press and publishing.
The Department of Education and Training receives the management of vocational education.
The Department of Justice transferred the task of managing criminal records to the Provincial Police.
In addition, the conference also announced 41 decisions on personnel work, including the appointment and transfer of many important leadership positions.
