On the afternoon of April 24, right after the official welcoming ceremony, in the capital Vientiane, Politburo member and President Luong Cuong held talks with General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith as well as witnessed the signing of cooperation documents between the two countries.

In an interview with VNA, Lao Ambassador to Vietnam Khamphao Ernthavanh pointed out that the visit of the high -ranking delegation between the two countries of Laos - Vietnam is a traditional activity, in order to continue strengthening and building a great friendship and special solidarity between the two countries increasingly attached. This is an opportunity for senior leaders of the two countries to discuss the guidelines, policies and measures to build understanding and promote comprehensive cooperation between the two countries increasingly specific and effective for the benefit of the people of the two countries, as well as supporting each other at many regional and international forums.

Ambassador Khamphao Ernthavanh affirmed: "No matter how complicated the regional and international situation is, with both opportunities and challenges, Laos and Vietnam still give top priority to preserving and developing the special relationship that the two countries consider a valuable heritage for future generations".

In that context, President Luong Cuong's visit to Laos "is a continuation of the great friendship and special solidarity between the two Parties, two States, Lao and Vietnamese peoples, as well as continuing to enrich and foster the affection and closeness between the two countries' senior leaders".

The Ambassador said that on this occasion, the two sides will re-evaluate cooperation based on the content of the Minutes of the 2024 Meeting of the Lao and Vietnam Politburoes; Cooperation between the two governments of Laos and Vietnam.

Ambassador Khamphao Ernthavanh commented that economic cooperation between Laos and Vietnam is constantly expanding and has achieved many successes. The two countries have implemented cooperation projects on infrastructure, joint investment and border trade, which is an important foundation for the economic development of both countries.

At the 47th session of the Lao -Vietnam Intergovernmental Committee, the Prime Minister of the two countries directed each industry to be more proactive in implementing the specific agreements of the two Politburo, the two Lao and Vietnam governments, creating a breakthrough to bring comprehensive cooperation between the two sides into essence, broader, bringing practical benefits to the people of the two countries, especially in terms of economy.

Accordingly, the two sides will continue to promote trade between the two countries to be better and better by jointly strengthening and facilitating the expansion of border trade further than before. Encourage Vietnamese enterprises to invest in Laos to continue to actively contribute to the socio-economic development of Laos, especially promoting economic cooperation towards clean agriculture and the production of consumer goods with potential in Vietnam.

The two sides focus on infrastructure integration, tourism, energy cooperation, and clean agriculture. These are potentials that the two countries can cooperate in, creating an important foundation for regional integration and being a driving force for Laos and Vietnam's economies in the future.

"In the coming time, I think that Laos and Vietnam also need to enhance infrastructure connection such as roads, railways and digital infrastructure to create favorable conditions for the transportation of goods and people. The two countries also need to expand their general investment through transportation, general commodity production and promote international cooperation between small and medium -sized enterprises of the two countries; sharing administrative and technical experiences to improve the capacity of the private sector; Effective and transparent gender by eliminating the limitations and improving the import and export process " - Lao Ambassador in Vietnam shared.
