On March 1st, information from the National Assembly Office said that the 55th session of the National Assembly Standing Committee will be divided into 2 phases: Phase 1 (March 2, 2026); Phase 2 (March 16-17, 2026) in Hanoi.
Politburo Member, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man will deliver the opening speech and together with the Vice Chairmen of the National Assembly take turns managing the content of the Session.
After National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man delivered the opening speech of the session, the National Assembly Standing Committee gave opinions on the projects: Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Notarization; Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Legal Aid; Law on Access to Information (amended).
Along with that, giving opinions on the application of preferences and exemptions to the Office of the Economic Development Cooperation Fund of the Export-Import Bank of Korea in Vietnam according to Official Dispatch No. 17/TTr-CP; considering the report on people's aspirations of the National Assembly in February 2026; giving opinions (second time) on the preparation for the First Session, 16th National Assembly.
In the second phase on March 16, the National Assembly Standing Committee will give opinions on the draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Representative Offices of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam abroad; the draft Law on Belief and Religion; the draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Prevention and Control of Tobacco Harms.
Along with that, giving opinions on the draft Law on Civil Status (amended); draft Capital Law (amended); considering and approving the Resolution amending and supplementing Resolution No. 1744/NQ-UBTVQH15 dated June 27, 2025 of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the list of members of the National Judge Selection and Supervision Council.
On March 17, the National Assembly Standing Committee gave opinions on the draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Emulation and Commendation; the draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Social Insurance; considering and approving the Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee promulgating the National Assembly's Foreign Affairs Regulations.
The National Assembly Standing Committee will also give opinions on the draft Resolution on coordination mechanisms and specific policies to improve the effectiveness of preventing and resolving international investment disputes; the Government's report on thrift practice and waste prevention in 2025; the draft Resolution on the 5-year socio-economic development plan 2026 - 2030.
