On February 27, information from the National Assembly Office said that the 55th session of the National Assembly Standing Committee is expected to be divided into 2 phases. Accordingly, phase 1 on Monday (March 2) and phase 2 on March 16-17, 2026.
In phase 1, the National Assembly Standing Committee will give opinions on draft Laws amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Notarization; Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Legal Aid; Law on Access to Information (amended).
The National Assembly Standing Committee also gave opinions on the application of preferential and exemption rights to the Economic Development Cooperation Fund Office of the Export-Import Bank of Korea in Vietnam according to Official Dispatch No. 17/TTr-CP.
At the same time, consider the report on people's aspirations of the National Assembly in February 2026 and give opinions (for the second time) on the preparation for the First Session of the 16th National Assembly.
In phase 2, the National Assembly Standing Committee is expected to give opinions on many important draft laws.
Including the draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Representative Agencies of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam abroad; the draft Law on Belief and Religion; the draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Prevention and Control of Tobacco Harms; the draft Law on Civil Status (amended); the draft Law on the Capital (amended); the draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Social Insurance; the draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Emulation and Commendation.
The National Assembly Standing Committee will also consider and approve the Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee promulgating the Regulation on Foreign Affairs Activities of the National Assembly; consider and approve the Resolution amending and supplementing Resolution No. 1744/NQ-UBTVQH15 dated June 27, 2025 of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the List of Members of the National Judge Selection and Supervision Council.
At the same time, at the 55th Session, opinions will be given on the Government's report on thrift practice and waste prevention in 2025;
Giving opinions on a number of draft Resolutions. Typical examples include the draft Resolution on coordination mechanisms and specific policies to improve the effectiveness of preventing and resolving international investment disputes; draft Resolution on the 5-year socio-economic development plan 2026-2030.
