At the meetings, President Luong Cuong thanked the people and peace-loving leftist forces of Chile for their enthusiastic support and solidarity with the Vietnamese people in the struggle for national independence and reunification in the past, and especially the Socialist Party for Vietnam in the renovation process under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam today.
Besides, the President affirmed that the Communist Party of Vietnam attaches importance to and wishes to further develop cooperative relations with ruling and participating political parties and parties with traditional relations, including the Communist Party of Chile.
The President stated that Vietnam always adheres to the foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, friendship, cooperation and development, diversification and multilateralization of relations, proactive and active international integration, being a friend, a reliable partner and an active and responsible member of the international community, in which Vietnam always attaches importance to developing comprehensive and modern diplomacy, based on three pillars: Party diplomacy, State diplomacy and people-to-people diplomacy, creating a framework for stable and sustainable relations with partners.
The President stressed that Vietnam wishes to cooperate with traditional friends in Latin America, especially with Chile, a leading country that plays a leading role in the process of regional integration and regional connectivity and is increasingly playing an important role in global issues.
Sharing some major features of the situation in Vietnam, the President said that the starting point was that the country was heavily devastated by war; the current world context has many complicated developments, but after nearly 40 years of renovation, Vietnam has achieved great achievements of historical significance. Currently, Vietnam has an economic scale ranked 35th in the Top 40 economies and is in the group of 20 countries with the fastest economic growth rate in the world.
The President emphasized that the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam has set a goal of striving to become a developing country with modern industry and high average income by 2030, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Party's founding, and by 2045, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the country's founding, to become a developed country with high income.
To achieve the above results, in addition to its own efforts, Vietnam needs the support and companionship of international friends, including Chile. Currently, Chile is one of Vietnam's leading export markets in Latin America and Vietnam is Chile's largest trading partner in ASEAN.
For his part, President of the Communist Party of Chile Lautaro Carmona Soto affirmed that Vietnam has always been a model for the whole world, including Chile. President Lautaro Carmona Soto said that for Chile, regardless of the party, they support the cooperative relationship in all fields between the two countries because Vietnam is a wonderful country, led by the Communist Party, always demonstrating a foreign policy of peace and cooperation, for the benefit of the people of the two countries.
Meanwhile, President of the Chilean Socialist Party Paulina Vodanovic hopes that Vietnam will share experiences that both countries are interested in, such as ensuring social security and ensuring safety for people, and hopes to cooperate with Vietnam in the issue of illegal immigration and the fight against crime.
