Vietnam - Laos strengthen exchange of experiences in preventing and combating corruption, wastefulness, and negativity

Prime Minister Le Minh Hung highly appreciated the close cooperation relationship between the inspection, examination, and anti-corruption agencies of Vietnam - Laos.

On the afternoon of August 25, at the Government Headquarters, Politburo Member, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung received Comrade Vanhxay Phongsavanh - Politburo Member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee, State Inspector General, Head of the Central Anti-Corruption Commission of Laos and the Lao High-Level Delegation on the occasion of their visit and working in Vietnam.

The Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam always values and prioritizes the consolidation and development of the great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, and strategic linkage between Vietnam and Laos; highly appreciates the positive results in Vietnam-Laos relations in the past time, especially the close coordination between the Governments of the two countries that has helped accelerate the progress of cooperation projects; believes that political relations continue to be consolidated, political trust is increasingly deep; defense, security, economy, trade, investment, education - training, culture and people-to-people exchanges continue to be concerned and promoted. The two sides regularly maintain high-level visits and contacts and cooperation mechanisms, thereby creating an important foundation for effectively implementing agreements between senior leaders of the two Parties and the two countries.

In the context that the two countries are implementing new development goals, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung emphasized the requirement to continue to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of national governance, build a clean and strong state apparatus, operate effectively and efficiently; strengthen discipline and order; promote the prevention and combat of corruption, wastefulness, and negativity. These are also areas of important significance in the process of building a rule-of-law state and promoting sustainable socio-economic development in each country.

The Prime Minister highly appreciated the close and regular cooperation relationship between the inspection, examination, and anti-corruption agencies of Vietnam and Laos; and at the same time requested the two sides to continue to effectively implement the signed agreements and memorandums of understanding on cooperation; strengthen exchange of experiences on inspection, examination, citizen reception, complaint and denunciation resolution, anti-corruption, wastefulness, and negativity; pay attention to training and fostering officials, exchanging professional skills and sharing experiences on perfecting institutions, improving the effectiveness of inspection and supervision work.

The Prime Minister requested that the functional agencies of the two countries proactively review and update the content of cooperation in accordance with practical requirements; strengthen coordination in detecting and handling cross-border cases, especially in areas prone to corruption and negativity; and at the same time promote the application of information technology and digital transformation in inspection and examination work, contributing to improving transparency and efficiency of state management. Requesting the Central Inspection Board and the Lao State Inspectorate to continue to closely coordinate with Vietnamese agencies in implementing the cooperation tasks agreed upon by senior leaders of the two Parties and States; thereby making practical contributions to consolidating the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos.

Thanking Prime Minister Le Minh Hung for taking the time to receive the delegation, Comrade Vanhxay Phongsavanh respectfully conveyed the cordial greetings and wishes for good health from Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone and senior Lao leaders to Prime Minister Le Minh Hung; and at the same time informed the Prime Minister of some highlights about the situation in Laos, the work results of the Central Inspection Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, the Lao State Inspectorate in the past time; the main activities of the visit, especially the results of the very successful talks between the two delegations of the Central Inspection Committee of the two Parties and the Lao State Inspectorate with the Government Inspectorate of Vietnam.

The Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee, State Inspector General of Laos, expressed his wish that the Governments of the two countries, especially the Government of Vietnam and Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, continue to pay attention to directing and creating favorable conditions for the Inspection and Inspection Agencies of the two countries to continue to strengthen cooperative relations, effectively coordinate the implementation of signed cooperation agreements, contributing to nurturing and bringing the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos to continuously develop.
