On the morning of September 10 (local time), at the State Palace, Ulaanbaatar capital, Mongolian Parliament Speaker Sandag Byambatsogt and his wife chaired a solemn welcoming ceremony for Politburo Member, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and his wife.
Immediately after the welcoming ceremony, the two National Assembly Chairmen held talks.
In a spirit of trust, sincerity, and openness, the two sides agreed to regularly maintain exchanges and exchanges of high-level delegations at all levels; continue to effectively implement existing cooperation mechanisms as well as commitments and agreements of senior leaders of the two countries, including the Joint Statement on establishing the Vietnam - Mongolia Comprehensive Partnership; strengthen defense - security, judicial cooperation, close coordination in preventing and combating transnational crime and effectively responding to non-traditional security issues.

The two sides agreed to strengthen the role of the legislative bodies of the two countries in coordinating to support and promote the connection of the two economies to develop substantively and effectively, commensurate with the potential of each country; actively consider further opening up for each other's goods, including creating conditions for Vietnam's agricultural and seafood products, which are strengths, to enter the Mongolian market, thereby soon completing the goal of increasing bilateral trade turnover to 200 million USD; strengthen investment promotion activities, and promote the early signing of a new Agreement on Encouragement and Protection of Investment between Vietnam and Mongolia.
The two leaders assessed that the two countries still have a lot of potential and room for development, not only in the fields of economy, trade, and investment but also need to be expanded to the fields of culture, sports, tourism, education and training, and people-to-people exchanges; agreed that it is necessary to further strengthen protection and support for the Vietnamese community in Mongolia and the Mongolian community in Vietnam to feel secure in living, studying, and working.
The two sides also agreed to strengthen the promotion of the potential, strengths and cultural and tourism beauty of each country; coordinate to promote exchange and cooperation activities in culture, sports, and tourism to enhance understanding and friendship between the people of the two countries.
Exchanging views on directions to promote parliamentary cooperation in the coming time, the two leaders agreed to continue to strengthen high-level and high-level delegation exchanges between the National Assemblies of the two countries; coordinate to synchronously and effectively implement the Cooperation Agreement between the National Assemblies of the two countries and the Cooperation Agreement between the two National Assembly Offices newly signed during the visit; continue to closely cooperate at regional and international parliamentary forums where both sides are members; perform well the supervisory function, contributing to ensuring the serious implementation of high-level agreements, creating conditions for the Governments and businesses of the two countries to strengthen economic and trade cooperation, and expand investment in areas where the two sides have potential and cooperation needs.

Exchanged views on the regional and international situation of common concern; the two sides agreed to continue to cooperate closely, support each other at regional and international forums; and support each other at multilateral parliamentary forums.
On the same day, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and Mongolian Parliament Speaker Sandag Byambatsogt signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the Parliament of Mongolia; and witnessed the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the National Assembly Offices of the two countries.
