At noon on November 27, at the Government Headquarters, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received member of the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of China, Deputy Secretary of the Regional Party Committee, Chairman of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China) Vi Thao.
At the meeting, in a friendly and affectionate atmosphere, the two sides expressed their delight at the positive development of the Vietnam - China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership. In particular, exchanges and cooperation between ministries, branches and localities of Vietnam and Guangxi have achieved very encouraging results with many outstanding bright spots including enhanced friendly exchanges; cooperation in artificial intelligence has become a new bright spot; connection of transport infrastructure, especially railways has been accelerated; customs clearance facilitation, border gate cooperation, piloting cross-border cooperation has achieved many new advances.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that Guangxi always has a very important position and role, always being a pioneer in promoting exchanges and cooperation between the two countries, the space for cooperation between Guangxi with ministries, branches and localities of Vietnam is still very large.
Regarding cooperation in the coming time, the Prime Minister hopes that the two sides will tighten exchanges, local cooperation and people-to-people exchanges, further improve the effectiveness of exchange and cooperation mechanisms between Guangxi with ministries, branches, localities and enterprises of Vietnam; speed up the connection of transport infrastructure between Vietnam and Guangxi, focusing on the two standard gauge railway lines Lang Son - Hanoi and Mong Cai - Ha Long - Hai Phong.
The Prime Minister hopes that the two sides will pilot the development of a smart border gate model at the Huu Nghi - Huu Nghi Quan international border gate pair and other eligible border gate pair, soon determine the model and pilot the implementation of a cross-border economic cooperation zone; improve customs clearance efficiency, facilitate goods, especially agricultural, forestry and fishery products of Vietnam imported into China and exported to third countries.
The Prime Minister also suggested that the two sides further promote cooperation in green economy, clean energy, science and technology, innovation and digital transformation, especially in the field of artificial intelligence application; cooperation in building large, symbolic projects in bilateral relations; good management of land borders, actively exchanging and resolving arising issues, building a peaceful, stable, friendly, cooperative and developing border on the mainland of Vietnam - China.
Chairman of Guangxi Vi Thao affirmed that the potential for cooperation between Guangxi with ministries, branches and localities of Vietnam is still very large; hoping that the two sides will speed up the connection of transport infrastructure; facilitate and improve the efficiency of customs clearance, smart border gates, and cross-border trade;
Focus on promoting cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence, enhancing cooperation in training and fostering talents in science and technology; improving the effectiveness of border management and cooperation in preventing cross-border crimes; enhancing human exchange, contributing to consolidating and deepening the China - Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership, bringing practical benefits to localities and people of both sides.
