On October 27, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with Chinese Premier Li Qiang within the framework of the 47th ASEAN Summit and related conferences in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed.
At the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh respectfully conveyed the greetings and best wishes of General Secretary To Lam and key leaders of Vietnam to General Secretary and President Xi Jinping, Prime Minister Li Qiang and key leaders of China.
The Prime Minister also congratulated China on successfully organizing the 4th Central Conference of the 20th tenure, developing the 15th 5-year Plan with a high-quality development orientation; informed Prime Minister Li Qiang about Vietnam's new theoretical and practical achievements and preparations for the 14th National Party Congress.
The two Prime Ministers highly appreciated the good and comprehensive progress in all areas of Vietnam-China relations in recent times. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his appreciation and sincere thanks for the close and effective coordination between Premier Li Qiang and the State Council of China in promoting bilateral cooperation.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested that the two sides maintain high-level exchanges, strengthen political trust; promote well the coordination mechanisms and strategic exchanges between the two countries; elevate the level of pillars of defense and security cooperation.
Emphasizing the importance of railway cooperation for the development of each country, the Prime Minister suggested that the two sides promote the mechanism of the Vietnam - China Railway Cooperation Joint Committee, giving the highest priority to this key area of cooperation; suggested that China actively coordinate with Vietnam on preferential loans, railway human resource training and cooperation in building a railway industrial complex.
The two Prime Ministers also discussed measures to respond to recent tax policy developments; have specific measures to promote healthy and balanced economic and trade relations between the two countries. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested that China continue to import high-quality agricultural products from Vietnam; the two sides promote the expansion of the smart border gate model, actively study the cross-border economic cooperation model; cooperate in electricity linkages and speed up the implementation of Chinese aid projects in Vietnam. At the same time, enhancing scientific and technological cooperation has become a new bright spot in bilateral relations.
Agreeing with the cooperation focuses raised by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Prime Minister Li Qiang affirmed that the State Council of China is ready to work with the Vietnamese Government to deploy and concretize the common perception between the top leaders of the two Parties and two countries; enhance high-level strategic exchanges; promote substantive cooperation, especially in areas of concern to both sides such as economy - trade, high-quality investment, and railway infrastructure connection.
At the meeting, the two sides discussed frankly and sincerely, constructing on issues at sea in accordance with the spirit of high-level common perception of controlling and resolving disagreements well, contributing to maintaining peace, stability and development in the region and the world.
