At the invitation of the Chinese Government and the Yunnan Provincial Government, on June 19, 2025, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha attended and spoke at the opening ceremony of the 9th China - South Asia Fair and the 29th Con Minh Import-Export Fair held in Konming City, Yunnan Province, China.
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha highly appreciated the role of the Fair in promoting linkages and sharing opportunities for harmonious, sustainable and inclusive development between the economies of ASEAN countries, the South Asian region and China.
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha suggested that the parties promote the role of the Government in creating, increasing discussions, consolidating the multilateral trading system based on laws, openness, freedom, fairness, transparency, and mutual support to maintain a complementary and mutually beneficial supply chain and production chain, thereby creating favorable conditions for people and businesses of the two countries to strengthen cooperation.
The Deputy Prime Minister hopes that countries will increase infrastructure investment, enhance regional and global logistics connectivity, in which Vietnam, with a wide-reaching seaport system and being strongly implemented in building strategic infrastructure for railways, roads, and aviation, is ready to strengthen cooperation with China and countries to promote smooth, multi-vehicle logistics connectivity in the region.
The Deputy Prime Minister also suggested that the parties cooperate, remove bottlenecks and barriers in the regional supply chain, expand market access opportunities for each other's goods, strengthen smart customs cooperation, recognize each other's standards, reduce unnecessary protectionist barriers to promote trade and investment between countries.
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha affirmed that Vietnam will continue to work with China and other countries in the region to strengthen comprehensive cooperation, promote trade and investment promotion, promote transport infrastructure connectivity, expand forms of people-to-people exchanges, develop tourism... for the prosperous development of the region and for the benefit of the business community and people of each country.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Head of the National People's Artist of China, Vuong Dong Minh affirmed that China wishes to closely link China's development with the development of South Asian and Southeast Asian countries.
China will always be a trustworthy and sincere friend and partner of Southeast Asian countries, and at the same time make 4 recommendations: Continuously enhancing strategic trust; Resolutely protecting multilateralism; Promoting cooperation in emerging areas such as green economy, digital economy, logistics, technological innovation and supply chains; Promoting human exchange.
On the occasion of attending the Fair, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha visited the booth of Vietnam's key products. The Vietnamese business delegation participated in 130 booths with nearly 70 enterprises; Exhibition products include seafood, cashews, pepper, coffee, dragon fruit, cassava, products made from Ben Tre coconut, shoes, perfume, wooden furniture, etc.
