The delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam led by Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department Tran Thanh Lam as Head of the delegation attended the first Intercontinental Dialogue Conference (ICDPP) between political parties in Seoul, South Korea. The delegation was attended by Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Thi Hoang Van.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Conference was attended by leaders and representatives of 21 political parties, organizations and political party networks from Asia, Africa, Europe and Latin America. The Conference focused on exchanging views on the role and cooperation of political parties in the face of profound changes in the world situation.
Speaking at the plenary session, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Training Commission Tran Thanh Lam emphasized that political parties need to establish appropriate development visions, put the interests and aspirations of the people at the center; proposed promoting the role of political party cooperation in connecting political forces, creating a foundation for cooperation between countries, and at the same time managing differences, preventing confrontation and conflict.

Mr. Tran Thanh Lam affirmed that the Party's foreign affairs continues to promote the role of building a political foundation, consolidating trust and strengthening relations with political parties, contributing to promoting relations between Vietnam and other countries, and emphasized that the Communist Party of Vietnam supports promoting cooperation with political parties and political party networks. In that spirit, Vietnam is ready to host the 14th Conference of All Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) in 2028.
In an exchange with Ms. Sofía Carvajal Isunza, Executive Secretary of the Permanent Conference of the Latin American and Caribbean Political Parties (COPPPAL), Secretary in charge of foreign affairs of the Mexican Institutional Revolution Party (PRI), Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, she affirmed that Vietnam values the friendly and cooperative relationship with Mexico, highly appreciates the role of PRI and COPPPAL, and proposed to strengthen contacts and cooperation to contribute to deepening the relationship between Vietnam and Mexico and Latin American countries.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Thi Hoang Van had meetings with Chairman of the ICAPP Standing Committee Chung Eui-yong, Head of the South Korean Democratic Party Congressman Han Byung-do. The two sides exchanged and shared experiences in organizing the ICAPP Plenary Session, preparing for Vietnam to host the 14th ICAPP Plenary Session in 2028.
The participation in the ICDPP Conference demonstrates the proactive, active and responsible participation of the Communist Party of Vietnam in multilateral party mechanisms, contributing to expanding relations with political parties, organizations and political party networks in Asia and around the world.
