Vietnam - Singapore promotes cooperation in human resource training and technology connection

The official visit to Singapore by Standing Secretary of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu and the Vietnam - Singapore Strategic Dialogue open up many cooperation opportunities between the two countries.

The official visit to Singapore and co-chairing of the first Vietnam-Singapore Strategic Dialogue by Politburo Member, Standing Secretary of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu and the high-level delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam from August 24-25 ended.

Answering press interviews about the results of the visit, Politburo Member, Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung affirmed that the visit was very successful, achieving high levels of set goals, with many specific results.

Standing Secretary of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu and Singaporean leaders exchanged views in an open and trusting spirit on many contents of cooperation between the two countries as well as between our Party and the Singapore People's Action Party, agreeing on many important orientations to further strengthen Vietnam-Singapore cooperation.

The two sides emphasized the implementation of commitments and agreements between senior leaders of the two countries, deepening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, for the benefit of the people of the two countries, peace, stability and development in the region and in the world. The first Vietnam - Singapore Strategic Dialogue - the first strategic dialogue mechanism established by our Party with a foreign political party, co-chaired by the Standing Secretary of the Secretariat and the Deputy Secretary General of the People's Action Party, took place very effectively and substantively.

This is a specific and very early step in implementing the high-level agreements reached during the visit to Singapore in May by General Secretary and President To Lam, in accordance with the "action" thinking - turning will into action, policy decisions into results that the General Secretary and President have clearly stated. At the same time, thereby promoting the Party channel relationship to deepening, giving common direction for Vietnam-Singapore relations, especially in key and strategic areas, creating conditions to further deepen comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.

The two sides exchanged and shared many strategic issues of common concern on human resource training and technology connection; emphasized the importance of strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation and political trust; agreed to adopt the Conclusion of the first Strategic Dialogue with overall cooperation orientations to strengthen relations between the two Parties, the two countries and a number of specific cooperation plans and projects, including: Agreement on cooperation in cadre training for the period 2027 - 2029; Joint Statement on strategic technology connection. The two sides also agreed to continue to implement the second Strategic Dialogue Session in Vietnam in 2027.

The first session of the Vietnam - Singapore Strategic Dialogue mechanism has contributed to opening a channel for regular and direct exchange for leaders of the two sides to share views and exchange experiences on strategic and current issues.

Minister Le Hoai Trung said that with the important results achieved, the visit effectively contributes to strengthening the close connection between the two Parties and two countries, creating a solid political foundation to continue to bring the Vietnam - Singapore Comprehensive Strategic Partnership to develop more and more substantively and comprehensively.

Based on the important results achieved during the visit, the two sides need to closely coordinate, in which Vietnamese relevant agencies need to promote proactiveness and "action" thinking to focus on organizing implementation and soon put plans into practice.

According to Minister Le Hoai Trung, first of all, it is necessary to develop an early and effective implementation plan from the initial steps of the agreed contents on cooperation in training cadres in the 2027 - 2029 period.

At the same time, promote the implementation of the state-enterprise-research institute connection model in important areas of cooperation between the two countries, such as data economy, semiconductors, biotechnology, digital government, digital health, AI, VSIP; gradually shift cooperation to areas with higher technology content, knowledge and added value, suitable for Vietnam's new development needs and promoting Singapore's strengths.

For the results of the visit to truly go into life, it is important to ensure the synchronous participation of ministries, sectors, localities and the business community.
