Vietnam - Singapore cooperation fields are increasingly expanding and going deeper

Politburo member, Standing Secretary of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu, met with Singaporean National Assembly Chairman Seah Kian Peng.

Within the framework of the official visit to Singapore and co-chairing the first Vietnam-Singapore Strategic Dialogue between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the People's Action Party of Singapore (PAP), on the afternoon of August 24, Politburo Member, Standing Secretary of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu met with Singaporean National Assembly Chairman Seah Kian Peng.

Standing Secretary of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu thanked for the solemn and thoughtful reception that Singaporean leaders gave to the high-level delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam; conveyed the greetings and best wishes of Politburo Member, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man to National Assembly Chairman Seah Kian Peng.

Standing Secretary of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu expressed his impression of Singapore's strong development; believing that under the leadership of the People's Action Party and the Government of Singapore, Singapore will continue to develop, successfully implement the Economic Development Strategy in the new phase towards the goal of doubling GDP by 2040, successfully building a Smart Country 2.0, and continue to affirm its position as one of the leading dynamic, innovative and sustainable development centers in the world.

National Assembly Chairman Seah Kian Peng expressed his pleasure to meet with Standing Secretary of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu; emphasized that the visit contributes to implementing the agreements reached during recent high-level visits, especially the recent visit to Singapore by General Secretary and President To Lam; and at the same time promotes the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership to develop synchronously on the Party, State and people-to-people exchange channels; thereby consolidating the political foundation and creating new momentum for cooperation between the two countries in all fields. Congratulating the great and comprehensive achievements that Vietnam has achieved in the past time, National Assembly Chairman Seah Kian Peng affirmed that Singapore will continue to accompany and share experiences with Vietnam, constantly expanding cooperation fields suitable to the new development stage of the two countries.

The two leaders shared and unanimously highly appreciated the comprehensive development steps of the two countries' relations. Standing Secretary of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu affirmed that Vietnam-Singapore relations are in a good development stage, with cooperation fields increasingly expanding and deepening. Singapore is one of Vietnam's leading important economic partners in investment, trade and connectivity. Relations between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the People's Action Party have also had new developments, notably the establishment and implementation of the Strategic Dialogue mechanism, showing the high level of priority and political trust between the two Parties.

The two sides agreed to strengthen coordination and mutual support at ASEAN, regional and international forums, especially when Singapore assumes the role of ASEAN Chair in 2027 and Vietnam hosts APEC in 2027; thereby contributing to consolidating solidarity, promoting ASEAN's central role and making positive contributions to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region.

Standing Secretary of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu was pleased to see that cooperation between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the National Assembly of Singapore continues to be maintained and developed positively. Close coordination between the two legislative bodies has contributed to creating a favorable legal framework for monitoring and implementing cooperation agreements between the two countries; requested the two sides to continue to pay attention to promoting cooperation between the two legislative bodies; promote the effectiveness of existing cooperation mechanisms to contribute to the effective implementation of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership framework, bringing bilateral cooperation in all fields of comprehensive development into depth and substance.

National Assembly Chairman Seah Kian Peng emphasized that the two sides need to continue to strengthen high-level delegation exchanges and exchanges between committees, groups of young parliamentarians, and groups of female parliamentarians to exchange experiences in building and consolidating the executive role of the National Assembly, thereby enhancing mutual understanding and trust, actively coordinating and supporting the implementation of high-level agreements and contributing to deepening the Vietnam - Singapore Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

On this occasion, Standing Secretary of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu conveyed the invitation of Politburo Member, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man to invite National Assembly Chairman Seah Kian Peng to pay an official visit to Vietnam in the near future.
