Within the framework of the official visit to Singapore and co-chairing the first Vietnam-Singapore Strategic Dialogue between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the People's Action Party of Singapore, on August 24, Politburo Member, Standing Secretary of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu met with the Chairman of the People's Action Party, Minister of Education of Singapore Desmond Lee.
Standing Secretary of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu thanked the Central Executive Committee of the Singapore People's Action Party and Party Chairman Desmond Lee for giving the high-level delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam a respectful, thoughtful, and friendly reception; conveyed the greetings and best wishes of our Party leaders to the leadership of the Singapore People's Action Party.
Congratulating Singapore's development achievements, Standing Secretary of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu highly appreciated the consistent and effective leadership role of the People's Action Party of Singapore in the process of building the country, making Singapore a developed country with a dynamic economy, effective governance capacity and increasingly high position in the region and in the world.
The Standing Committee of the Secretariat expressed its pleasure to witness the continuous development of Vietnam-Singapore relations, the special friendship and cooperation relationship in Southeast Asia, built on a foundation of high political trust, dynamic economic cooperation and close people-to-people exchanges. The two countries' upgrade of relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in March 2025 has opened a new stage of development, creating a favorable framework to promote increasingly deep, practical and effective cooperation.
Standing Secretary of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu emphasized that the relationship between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the People's Action Party of Singapore is an important pillar, contributing to consolidating the political foundation and orienting the development of relations between the two countries. Highly appreciating the fact that the two sides maintain high-level contacts, strengthen exchanges of experiences on Party building, national governance, policy making and human resource development, the comrade thanked Singapore for actively accompanying and supporting the training of intermediate and senior cadres for the Communist Party of Vietnam over the past decade; expressed his desire to bring the relationship between the two Parties to become increasingly in-depth and comprehensive, through promoting the effectiveness of cooperation frameworks, especially the Strategic Dialogue mechanism between the two Parties; promoting cooperation through promoting exchanges and interactions, building regular relations between the leaders of the two Parties, especially potential young leaders; strengthening exchanges and sharing visions in national development; maintaining cooperation in education, training, and high-quality human resources; strengthening exchanges and interactions between mass organizations of the two Parties.
Chairman of the Singapore People's Action Party Desmond Lee expressed his impression of Vietnam's development achievements and increasing role and position; affirmed that the Singapore People's Action Party values and wishes to continue to deepen the friendly and cooperative relationship with the Communist Party of Vietnam.
Agreeing with the proposals of Standing Secretary of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu, Chairman Desmond Lee affirmed that the People's Action Party will closely coordinate with the Communist Party of Vietnam, promote comprehensive cooperation in all fields, including science and technology, artificial intelligence, maintain exchanges, exchanges and share experiences on issues of common concern, including improving management capacity, training cadres, leadership experience, and national governance.
The two sides shared about the goals, visions, and leadership and ruling methods of the two Parties; highly appreciated the early implementation of the Strategic Dialogue mechanism between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the People's Action Party of Singapore, demonstrating the strong commitment and high priority that the two Parties give to bilateral relations, and reflecting the increasingly deep political trust between Vietnam and Singapore.
The two sides agreed to promote the effectiveness of the Strategic Dialogue mechanism, gradually making this mechanism a regular and substantive exchange channel between the leaders of the two Parties; coordinate to respond to rapid changes in the regional and international situation.
The two sides believe that the implementation of the first Strategic Dialogue will create a new milestone in the relationship between the Communist Party of Vietnam and PAP, promote the orienting role of the Party channel relationship, thereby creating momentum to bring the Vietnam - Singapore Comprehensive Strategic Partnership to develop more deeply, substantively and effectively.
