In the afternoon of April 13, at the Presidential Palace, General Secretary and President To Lam received Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico.

General Secretary and President To Lam affirmed that Vietnam consistently values and wishes to further deepen relations with Slovakia; the Communist Party of Vietnam values and is ready to strengthen relations with Slovak political parties, especially with the Smer - SD Party (Social Democratic Party) and parties in Prime Minister Robert Fico's ruling coalition.

Welcoming and highly appreciating the results of the talks between Politburo Member, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung and Prime Minister Robert Fico, General Secretary and President To Lam expressed satisfaction when the two countries officially upgraded relations to the level of "Strategic Partnership", showing a high level of political trust between the two countries.

Prime Minister Robert Fico expressed his pleasure and emotion to revisit Vietnam, sharing that he personally has very special feelings for the country and people of Vietnam, always cherishes the heroic Vietnamese nation in the struggle for national liberation and a Vietnam that is extremely dynamic in socio-economic development and international integration, especially Vietnam's correct foreign policy in the context of the extremely complex world situation today. Prime Minister Robert Fico said that Vietnam is always a source of inspiration for Slovakia to learn from experience in development, international and regional integration.

Prime Minister Robert Fico emphasized that Slovakia always considers Vietnam as the most important partner in Southeast Asia and 1 of the 3 largest partners in Asia. Prime Minister Robert Fico emphasized that Slovakia is very pleased with the results of the visit, especially the fact that the two countries have elevated relations to a Strategic Partnership and the signing of many cooperation documents between ministries, sectors and businesses of the two countries during this visit will create new impetus in cooperation.

Agreeing with the opinion of General Secretary and President To Lam, the Slovak Prime Minister said that he will closely coordinate with the Vietnamese side to immediately implement the agreements reached, especially in breakthrough areas such as economy - trade, science - technology, defense - security, industry, renewable energy, tourism, high-tech agriculture and artificial intelligence (AI).

General Secretary and President To Lam outlined a number of major orientations for the two sides to implement substantively and effectively, commensurate with the Strategic Partnership that the two sides have just upgraded. Accordingly, the two sides promote delegation exchanges at all levels on all Party, State, Government channels and people-to-people exchanges to further strengthen political trust.
