On June 30, Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee held a ceremony to announce Resolution No. 1687/NQ-UBTVQH15 of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units in the province.
According to the Resolution, Vinh Long province officially has 124 commune-level administrative units, including 105 communes and 19 wards. Of which, 101 communes and 19 wards are newly established administrative units on the basis of merging and adjusting boundaries from existing communes and towns; 4 communes do not implement the arrangement including Long Hoa (Chau Thanh district), Dong Hai, Long Vinh and Hoa Minh.

The arrangement is carried out based on Project No. 337/DA-CP dated May 9, 2025 of the Government, ensuring the principles of publicity, transparency, promoting the supervisory role of the people, in accordance with the reality of each locality.
The Vinh Long provincial government and departments and branches are urgently completing the organization, personnel and necessary conditions for the new administrative units to officially come into operation from July 1, 2025. The determination of boundaries, areas and public announcement will be carried out before September 30, 2025.
