worthy of being the "steel fist" of the People's Public Security force
On the occasion of the 80th Anniversary of the Traditional Day of the People's Public Security Force (CAND) (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the 20th Anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection (August 19, 2005 - August 19, 2025), on the afternoon of August 8, in Hanoi, General Secretary To Lam and the Central Working Group visited and worked with the Criminal Police Department (Ministry of Public Security).
Also attending were Politburo members, Party Central Committee Secretaries: Head of the Central Organization Committee Le Minh Hung, Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee Nguyen Duy Ngoc. Also attending were General Luong Tam Quang - Politburo member, Secretary of the Central Public Security Party Committee, Minister of Public Security; Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court Le Minh Tri.

Speaking at the meeting, General Secretary To Lam emphasized that in each historical period of the country, the activities of the Criminal Police force have their own difficulties and challenges. However, no matter the difficulties and challenges, the generations of the Criminal Police are resilient and determined to overcome them to excellently complete the assigned tasks.
In the cause of maintaining social order and safety, protecting the peaceful lives of the people, the Criminal Police force is always a pioneer force on the front line, loyal, brave, and reliable; worthy of being the "steel fist" of the People's Public Security force in the field of fighting and preventing all types of crimes.
Emphasizing that our country is entering a new stage of development with a foundation as an achievement built throughout the history of the nation, the General Secretary noted that it is necessary to fully and deeply recognize the requirements and tasks of the People's Public Security force in general, and the Criminal Police force in particular in the new development stage of the country.
The fight against crime must be placed in the overall work of protecting security and order, the tasks of developing the country's economy, culture, society, national defense, security and foreign affairs; must be placed under the leadership of the Party, State, Party committees and authorities at all levels, as the cause of the entire Party, people, army and the entire political system, promoting the spirit of mastering the people in this work, with the motto "The Party leads, the State manages, the people are the masters, the Police are the core in the cause of protecting security and order"; must always wonder the question "What should I do to contribute to the development of the country in the current period?".
From fully recognizing such requirements and tasks, it is necessary to determine specific actions, specific programs and work plans to effectively perform assigned duties and responsibilities. This spirit must be "instilled" in every cadre and party member of the Criminal Police force.
Persistently implementing the goal of reducing crime
The General Secretary emphasized that the Central Party Committee of Public Security, the Ministry of Public Security and the Criminal Police Department need to pay special attention to leading and directing the implementation of Party building work, building a "revolutionary, disciplined, elite, modern" force; building the Vietnam Criminal Police in the new period: strong in politics; professional skills; legal mastery; technology mastery; ready to commit to the country, the people.

This is the top important factor to complete the noble task on the front line of the fight against crime, building an orderly, disciplined, safe and healthy society for the peaceful and happy life of the people.
The General Secretary requested coordination with agencies that do a good job of strategic consultation with the Party and State to supplement and perfect policies, guidelines, policies and laws on crime prevention and control; need to pay attention to detecting loopholes and shortcomings in legal mechanisms and policies to advise and recommend solutions, not allowing criminals to take advantage of their activities; continue to persistently implement the goal of reducing crime in a practical and sustainable manner, contributing to building an orderly, disciplined, safe and healthy society.
