Speaking at a press conference introducing the 10th Vietnam - China Border Defense Friendship Exchange (The 10th Exchange) on March 10, Colonel Do Duy Chinh - Deputy Director of the Propaganda and Training Department, General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army - said that the 10th Exchange is expected to take place in 2 days, March 18-19, 2026 in the common border area of the two countries in Quang Ninh province (Vietnam) and Guangxi (China).
In which, the main activities of the Friendship Exchange on March 18 will take place in Quang Ninh province (Vietnam) and March 19 will take place in the Choang Autonomous Region, Guangxi (China).
Colonel Do Duy Chinh emphasized that the 10th Exchange is of particular importance, directly contributing to strengthening political trust; building special friendship and solidarity between the armies and people of Vietnam and China; Promoting substantive cooperation between the border protection forces of the two countries, local authorities and people in border areas, contributing to building a truly peaceful, friendly, stable, cooperative and developing Vietnam-China border.
Providing information on the main activities at the 10th Exchange, Colonel Tran Van Loi - Head of the Asian Department (Department of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of National Defense) - shared that this exchange activity contributes to concretizing the common understanding of senior leaders of the two Parties and two countries on continuing to promote increasingly substantive defense cooperation relations.
Strengthen friendship and solidarity, promote substantive cooperation between border protection forces, local authorities and people in border areas of the two countries as well as the relationship between the armies of Vietnam and China, contributing to building a border of peace, friendship, stability, cooperation and development.
It is expected that the Vietnamese delegation will be headed by General Phan Van Giang - Member of the Politburo, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense.
On the Chinese delegation side, it is expected to have about 40 people led by Senior Lieutenant General Dong Jun - Minister of National Defense of China.
The main activities in Vietnam on March 18 are expected to include the welcoming ceremony of the Chinese Ministry of National Defense Delegation at Mong Cai International Border Gate (Quang Ninh province); friendship tree planting; Groundbreaking ceremony of Hai Son Friendship Health Station project; visit to Tran Phu High School; visit to Tra Co Border Guard Station; Talks, farewell ceremony for the Chinese Ministry of National Defense Delegation.
Expected activities in China on March 19 include a ceremony to welcome the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense Delegation to visit the Border Guard Company, planting friendship trees at the Border Guard Company; the launching ceremony of the Joint Patrol and Joint Training in the Gulf of Tonkin sea area between the Vietnamese - Chinese Navy; visiting the Ho Chi Minh Trail relic at sea; visiting a local enterprise; laying wreaths at the Monument to Vietnamese People's Revolutionary Martyrs - China; farewell ceremony for the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense Delegation.
In addition to the main activities, there are side activities taking place before the exchange such as medical examination, treatment, and free medicine distribution for about 1,000 people in the border area between the military medical forces of the two countries;
Awarding scholarships to poor students in border areas; donating breeding cows to households in difficult circumstances in border areas; Organizing preliminary twinning of residential clusters on both sides of the border.
