Recently, fashion magazine Harper's Bazaar Hong Kong (China) announced the cover face for its October 2024 issue, which is Korean actress Kim Ji Won.
The Silver Ten (October issue) is an important publication of the year for leading fashion magazines, second only to the Golden Nine (September) issue. In particular, this month's Silver Ten issue also celebrates the 36th anniversary of Harper's Bazaar Hong Kong (China).
Kim Ji Won's appearance on the cover of a major fashion magazine and on an important occasion proves her influence, following the success of the TV series "Queen of Tears".
Fans also noticed that the brand that sponsored and pushed the cover for Kim Ji Won was Dior. Previously, Dior pushed the cover for Kim Ji Won in the Golden Nine issue of Vogue Taiwan (China).
Dior's constant favoritism towards Korean beauties makes the audience believe that her relationship with this brand is very good.
However, the previous controversy that Dior caused regarding Kim Ji Won once made the actress's fans angry.
On July 6, Dior's social media account announced that Kim Ji Won was appointed as the newest brand ambassador.
Dior posted a photo of Kim Ji Won attending a store opening event in Taipei, Taiwan (China) and introduced: “Brand ambassador, actress "Queen of Tears" Kim Ji Won blends into the beautiful scene at the opening of Dior Diamond Towers store in Taipei (China), in a black dress and dragonfly-patterned Lady Dior bag by Maria Grazia Chiuri”.
The actress's fans happily shared the news across platforms. But just half an hour later, Dior changed the content of the post, Kim Ji Won was no longer called an ambassador.
The French fashion house's actions were criticized as unprofessional. Many comments said that Dior was disrespecting both Kim Ji Won and her fans.
After this controversy, Dior continuously pushed Kim Ji Won's covers onto top magazines Vogue and Harper's Bazaar, but the actress has yet to be announced as an ambassador.
Meanwhile, according to Korean media, luxury brand Bvlgari recently chose Kim Ji Won to become the first Korean ambassador in three areas: jewelry, watches, and perfume.
Like Dior, Bvlgari has pushed Kim Ji Won's cover to two magazines Cosmopolitan Korea and Vogue Korea digital edition.
Kim Ji Won is a sought-after face in the fashion and advertising industry.
Since March, with the coverage of "Queen of Tears", the actress has been chosen as the ambassador of many brands and labels.
