The group still followed the familiar Y2K style, but their outfits caused controversy. Many even said that NewJeans had the worst appearance among the artists walking the AAA red carpet this year.

But the outfits of the 5 members of LE SSERAFIM when standing together still give a sense of harmony and highlight. On the contrary, the NewJeans lineup is criticized for being out of place, each person has a different style.
NewJeans members mainly combine simple items including shirts, T-shirts, and short skirts. Netizens are upset because ADOR's stylist chose a style for them that was too bland, not suitable for the red carpet of a big event.
Notably, Minji only wore a white T-shirt and a black skirt. Some viewers said that this was no different from what they normally wear.

NewJeans is currently involved in a contract dispute with ADOR Company (part of HYBE Group). The 5 female idols (Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, Hyein) announced the termination of their contracts on November 29. However, ADOR filed a lawsuit to request legal confirmation that the exclusive contract is still valid.
On December 25, when appearing on the radio program “Kim Hyun Jung's News Show”, the 5 members of NewJeans did their own makeup, hair, and chose their own outfits, without any relation to ADOR.
