Attending the event, there were representatives of the Department of Industry and Trade, Department of Agriculture and Environment, Quang Ngai Provincial Police, representatives of Vietnam Aviation Fuel Company Limited (SKYPEC). On the side of BSR, there was Mr. Bui Ngoc Duong - Chairman of the Board of Directors; Mr. Nguyen Viet Thang - General Director and Mr. in the Board of Directors, the Board of Directors, the Supervisory Board, the Board of Directors of the Factory, the leaders of the functional boards and employees participating in the research and production of SAF products.

The first batch of SAF products is manufactured from imported raw materials from Europe and domestically produced BSR's aircraft fuel (Jet A-1). The first commercial partner to receive the product is Vietnam Aviation Fuel Company Limited (Skypec) to provide to Vietnam Airlines flights.
Mr. Hoang Thanh Son - Head of BSR Research and Development Department said: To prepare for production and export, over the past year BSR has completed the SAF blending technical plan, improved the technology infrastructure system at the tanker truck export station and tank area, completed the standards system and management, product quality inspection at the Factory.
On March 31, 2025, BSR was granted 2 ISCC CORSIA and ISCC EU import certificates issued by SGS Germany GmbH (Germany). These are two of the most prestigious certifications globally, with the scope of certification including blending, manufacturing, storing and trading SAF products. At the same time, the Company also fully completed technical documents, production processes, internal blending and basic standards TCCS 23:2024-BSR.

Owning an ISCC certificate helps BSR qualify to export SAF products to international markets, especially the EU market - where there are the strictest regulations on emissions and renewable energy. The certification is also a testament to BSR's efforts in meeting green, sustainable and environmentally responsible production standards, an advantage for the company to expand cooperation and sign trade contracts with partners with high requirements for sustainability.
BSR has closely coordinated with skypec, airlines and transport units to establish a trial SAF supply process - from transportation, inspection to quality control at the delivery point.
This event marks the formation of the first closed SAF supply chain in Vietnam - from importing raw materials, mixing, controlling quality to supplying aviation fuel companies and distributing for domestic and international flights. According to the plan, BSR will deploy the production of larger-scale SAF batches, aiming for commercialization from the fourth quarter of 2025" - Mr. Hoang Thanh Son said.

Speaking at the ceremony, BSR General Director Nguyen Viet Thang said: Facing the trend of global energy transition and Vietnam's commitment to reduce carbon emissions - Net zero, BSR has built a roadmap for research, development and efforts to produce this new product line based on existing infrastructure conditions. SAF products are combined from sustainable components (SBC/Neat SAF) and Jet A-1, developed on the basis of Jet A-1 standards, adding specifications according to ASTM D-7566, ensuring quality for aerospace engines. The product is in the main product portfolio of Petrovietnam
The event of the first 5% SAF batch of sales affirmed that BSR's production, mixing and quality management system is qualified to supply SAF; at the same time, it shows the complete combination of the chain between manufacturer, mixing and distributor - with all units having ISCC certificates. This is an important premise for building and developing sustainable aviation fuel according to the trend of global energy transition and Vietnam's carbon emissions commitment.

Today's event affirms Petrovietnam's determination in implementing Resolution 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation. We are proud to be one of the pioneers in implementing SAF commercialization, aiming to provide clean energy solutions for domestic and international airlines - Mr. Nguyen Viet Thang emphasized.
On the journey of researching and commercializing SAF, BSR also actively expands international cooperation. In March 2025, in the United States, BSR signed a pre-feasibility study consulting contract for SAF production with Kellogg Brown & Root Group (K BR) - one of the world's leading enterprises in the field of energy engineering and technology consulting.

At the ceremony, delegates witnessed a representative of Dung Quat Oil Refinery presenting SAF products to skypec Company along with product quality certificates to issue to Vietnam Airlines flights. This is also BSR's commitment in the energy transition roadmap and the process of building a green, sustainable oil refinery.
