Building a digital map to support people in remote areas
In many remote communes of Gia Lai, access to healthcare services is difficult due to complex terrain and remote distances. In order to overcome this situation, commune-level health workers have proactively built a digital map, detailed listing of vaccination points and clinics in the area.
These maps are regularly updated and widely shared through information channels such as the website of the provincial Department of Health, social networks and mobile applications.
The construction of a digital map not only helps people easily look up information about the nearest medical facilities, but also supports the management, supervision and coordination of vaccination and medical examination and treatment activities in the locality. In particular, in the context of the complicated COVID-19 epidemic, providing timely and accurate information about vaccination points and clinics has made an important contribution to disease prevention and control.
Improving the capacity of grassroots health workers
To ensure the effectiveness of the implementation of the digital map, commune-level health workers have participated in training courses on vaccination safety, vaccination information management and the use of information technology in health work.
In 2025, the Gia Lai Provincial Center for Disease Control organized a training course on vaccination safety for more than 50 health workers from 17 districts, towns, cities and health units implementing expanded immunization in Gia Lai province. Trainees are instructed on the standard process to plan for the vaccination session, organize vaccination sessions and the standard process for reporting forms
In addition, commune-level health workers are also instructed on how to use the national vaccination management information system, helping them promptly update information on the vaccination situation in the locality and effectively coordinate with upper-level health facilities.
Building a digital map of vaccination points and clinics in the commune not only helps people in remote areas easily access medical services, but also contributes to the implementation of the sustainable development goals of the health sector. This is one of the practical activities towards improving the quality of life of people, minimizing inequality in access to health services and protecting public health.
The emulation movement "For the poor - No one is left behind" in the period of 2021 - 2025 that the whole country is joining hands to implement has been actively responded to by all levels and sectors in Gia Lai. Activities such as building digital maps of vaccination points and clinics in the commune are clear evidence of the continuous efforts of grassroots health workers in improving the quality of health services and health care for people, especially in remote areas of the province.
