In recent days, at the construction sites of investment projects to build, upgrade and renovate the power grid in Ho Chi Minh City, the Power Grid Project Management Board, construction units and supervision consultants are making efforts to speed up the construction progress and material installation with the goal of completing the projects before December 31, thereby contributing to improving and ensuring adequate and stable power supply during the Lunar New Year and the dry season of 2025.
It is expected that the construction of the 220kV Cat Lai - Tan Cang line supplying electricity to the central area of Ho Chi Minh City will be energized on December 24, the 220kV and 110kV Cau Bong - Binh Tan lines supplying electricity to Hoc Mon and Binh Tan districts, and the renovation of the 110kV Cho Lon station supplying electricity to districts 5, 10, and 11 will be energized on December 16.
Visiting the construction sites to check the construction progress, Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh - General Director of EVNHCMC - shared the difficulties and encouraged the workers who are working hard to bring the projects to the finish line on schedule.
Mr. Thanh emphasized that the projects are very important in improving the reliability of power supply for some districts, especially the T3 terminal of Tan Son Nhat Airport, which is expected to be put into operation in April 2025; Mr. Thanh also acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of the construction units and required the construction units to ensure quality, on schedule, and focus on labor safety.
Mr. Bui Hai Thanh - Deputy General Director of EVNHCMC - said that in recent times, EVNHCMC has proactively planned to invest and implement renovation, upgrading, and construction of new transformer stations and power transmission lines, replacing outdated equipment with modern equipment with advanced technology, meeting electricity demand and modernizing the power grid.
By upgrading digital transformer stations and building a digital-based technical management ecosystem, Ho Chi Minh City's power grid has been transformed from manual operation, which is heavily dependent on humans, to automatic operation.
Here, on-site engineers can monitor and supervise transformer stations and electrical equipment on the grid in real time.
"EVNHCMC's employees are always innovating, creating, improving the quality and efficiency of production, business and investment activities to make the Ho Chi Minh City power grid increasingly modern and intelligent, aiming to be on par with leading power companies in the region and the world," said Mr. Thanh.
On November 26, the Ho Chi Minh City Power Grid Project Management Board energized and put into operation the T3 transformer of the 110/24kV Hoa Xa station in Phu Nhuan District to increase the reliability of power supply to Tan Son Nhat Airport when the T3 Chicken House of this airport is completed, contributing to the socio-economic development of Ho Chi Minh City.
