MB leads the market share race for payment speakers
The survey was conducted with more than 1200 business households and small traders using payment speaker services in three major cities: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang. The results showed that MB, MoMo and Techcombank are the three payment speaker service providers most used by customers. Notably, MB is holding the leading position with a market share of 30.6%.
Considering the banking brand group alone, MB continues to affirm its leading position with 39% of the total number of business households and small traders using payment speaker services, far exceeding the 2nd position of Techcombank (23%) and the 3rd position of BVBank (7.8%). This result is calculated based on the number of customers using equipment directly provided by the bank and third parties providing payment speaker solutions linked to bank accounts.
MB's success comes from correctly grasping the needs of business household customers and small traders in receiving money notifications to accounts via loudspeaker for quick and convenient payment without affecting sales or customer service. According to survey results, 25.8% of small traders choose MB because they are using other services of this bank, higher than the market average (22.8%). This advantage is strengthened by the fact that MB is providing services to about 35 million individual and business customers, creating a favorable foundation for rapidly expanding coverage and acceptance of loudspeaker payment services in the market.
MB started deploying payment speakers from November 2024, expanding nationwide from December 2024, currently serving more than 200,000 multi-segment stores: business households, small traders, SMEs, restaurant chains, cafes, hospitals, gas stations.
According to statistics, MB is currently supporting more than 384 million transactions through payment speaker devices with a total transaction value of nearly 103 trillion VND. This figure shows that payment speakers have been used regularly in daily sales activities, contributing to supporting a quick and convenient payment confirmation process.
Payment speakers are an important piece in the combo of the digital solution package for business households - MB Seller. The digital solution set supports business households from receiving payments, managing revenue, and issuing electronic invoices to ensure transparency and fairness, towards the goal of switching to declaration tax from 2026.
