EVNHANOI recommends customers and offices to save electricity

ANH HUY |

EVNHANOI recommends that customers, offices and production places join hands to use electricity economically and efficiently, and turn off unnecessary electrical equipment.

Hanoi is experiencing a prolonged period of severe heat, causing the demand for electricity, especially for cooling equipment, to skyrocket.

According to Hanoi Electricity Corporation (EVNHANOI), the electricity consumption capacity in the whole city has reached the highest level ever, reaching 5,988 MW at 13:20 on August 4, 2025.

Notably, in just the first 4 days of August, electricity consumption capacity increased by 1,300 MW (≈27%), showing that electricity demand has not shown any signs of cooling down.

The above figures clearly reflect the impact of weather on electricity consumption habits, especially in the group of household customers with the largest consumption ratio.

Outdoor temperatures are constantly maintained at 37-39°C, causing equipment such as air conditioners, refrigerators, and electrical fans to operate more and longer to maintain efficiency. This leads to increased electricity consumption even though the usage period has not changed.

According to information from EVNHANOI, prolonged heat waves pose a potential risk of power grid problems due to many electrical equipment operating outdoors in high-term environments; some power lines and transformer stations are overloaded at certain times.

EVNHANOI recommends that customers, offices and production places join hands to use electricity economically and efficiently, turn off unnecessary electrical equipment and limit the use of high-capacity equipment during peak hours of electricity consumption from 12:00 ÷ 15:00 and from 22:00 ÷ 24:00 daily.

At the same time, pay attention to reasonable use of air conditioners (reserved at 26°C or higher, used in combination with fans). In addition, using devices with energy-saving labels, regular maintenance air conditioners, and refrigerators are also effective ways to reduce electricity consumption.

In that situation, EVNHANOI recommends that people proactively monitor their family's electricity consumption each day through EVNHANOI's customer care ecosystem such as EVNHANOI App or evnhanoi.vn website.

Through these platforms, customers can check metric indicators, compare consumption levels between periods and especially set warning thresholds to receive timely information when electricity output exceeds the permitted threshold.

This is an effective solution for people to adjust their electricity usage behavior from the beginning, instead of waiting until the end of the month to " startled" with the bill.

The economical use of electricity not only brings direct economic benefits to each household but also helps protect the power system, reduce the risk of local overload and ensure stable power supply for the whole city during hot peak days.

With the message "Enserve electricity - Become a habit", EVNHANOI hopes that the cooperation of each citizen will contribute to building a civilized, safe and sustainable electricity user community.
