According to data from the Ministry of Education and Training, there are currently more than 250,000 Vietnamese students studying abroad. With tuition and living expenses ranging from an average of hundreds of millions to billions of VND per year, Vietnamese families often face significant financial pressure, especially during the peak period of enrollment in major markets such as the US, Australia, UK or Canada.
A parent whose child is studying in Australia, Mr. N.H. P (34 years old, Ho Chi Minh City) shared: "Every time tuition fees are transferred abroad, my family has to calculate very carefully. In addition to tuition fees, there are many other fees such as money transfer fees, electricity fees or exchange rate differences. With just a small change in the exchange rate or without support incentives, the total cost can be up to millions of VND.
One of the factors directly affecting the actual cost is the foreign exchange rate. For example, with a tuition fee of 50,000 AUD, just a exchange rate difference of 30 VND/AUD between banks, the total actual cost has increased by 1.5 million VND. Therefore, choosing a bank with reasonable fee policies and a good exchange rate becomes an important priority for parents to proactively manage resources and make practical plans for a long-term study abroad roadmap (usually lasting 3-5 years).
A representative of OCB's leadership said: "Besides bringing financial products and services to accompany customers in life, OCB also aims to simplify complex transactions. Through this, customers not only save costs but also have a safe, transparent and fast service experience. The international money transfer solution and current incentives are clear proof of that orientation".
