This solution allows users to pay unsold traffic fees (ETC) and other transportation services by withdrawing money directly from Vietcombank accounts instead of having to deposit money through e-wallets as before.

Decree 119/2024/ND-CP - Legal platform for identifying traffic accounts
According to Decree 119/2024/ND-CP of the Government on electronic payment for road traffic, vehicle owners must convert their existing toll collection account to a traffic account and link with non-cash payment means before October 1, 2025 to continue traveling on expressways. This regulation helps increase transparency, ensure transaction safety, and limit stopping and depositing manual or late payments at ETC stations.
The cooperation of the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank) with Vietnam Digital Transport Joint Stock Company (Viettel ePass) in its role as the organizer of providing electronic payment methods will help customers make non-stop payments (ETC) conveniently, safely and consistently nationwide, contributing to the digitalization of the Vietnamese transportation system.
Pioneering in meeting technical standards of the Ministry of Transport
Vietcombank is currently the first bank in Vietnam to meet the basic standards of TCCS 44:2022/TCDBVN and Decision 2255/QD-BGTVT of the Ministry of Transport - regulating connection, handling and security in ETC transactions.
According to these standards, each non-stop electronic toll collection transaction must be processed within less than 200ily seconds, ensuring that vehicles move through the station continuously, safely, and do not cause congestion. This shows that Vietcombank's technology capacity and transaction processing infrastructure fully meet the most stringent technical requirements in the field of smart transportation.

Link to account in just a few minutes
With this new form of payment, customers only need to register once to link Vietcombank accounts with ePass through the ePass and VCB Digibank applications. After connecting, the system will automatically deduct money from the bank account every time the vehicle passes through the station, and at the same time record transaction details right in the history of Vietcombank accounts and on the ePass application.

Currently, the service applies to individual customers with ePass transportation accounts, payment accounts opened at Vietcombank and using VCB Digibank digital banking.
Ms. Doan Hong Nhung - Director of Vietcombank Retail - shared: "Cooperating with ePass is a step to affirm Vietcombank's commitment to accompany people and businesses in digital transformation, promote digital payments, improve user experience and contribute to building a smart transportation system in Vietnam."
With the connection to Vietcombank, Viettel ePass becomes the first non-stop toll collection unit to provide direct bank linkage solutions, meeting Decree 119/2024/ND-CP. The goal of the two ePass - Vietcombank units is to bring the most convenient payment method to people, ensuring quick, accurate and safe transactions, to simplify all customer journeys."
Towards a smart transportation future
The cooperation between Vietcombank and Viettel ePass is not only the first step for a new payment model in the transport sector, but also contributes to promoting the national goal of cashless payments.
With a modern technology platform, complying with high technical standards and a spirit of accompanying customers, Vietcombank and Viettel ePass are committed to continuing to expand safe and convenient digital payment solutions, bringing a seamless journey on all routes in Vietnam.
