Vietnam National Chemical Group (Vinachem) was honored for the first time by Fortune magazine in the Fortune Southeast Asia 500 ranking in 2026. This is a milestone in the business's development process, and also recognizes the position of a Vietnamese industrial group in the region.
According to Fortune's announcement, Vinachem ranks 148th in the list of 500 leading Southeast Asian enterprises in 2026. The ranking is built based on important financial indicators such as revenue, profit and total assets of enterprises from 7 countries in the region, including Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines and Cambodia.
This is the third year Fortune has announced the Southeast Asia 500 ranking to recognize large-scale businesses, operating capacity and contributions to regional economic development.
According to Fortune, in 2025, Vinachem achieved revenue of 2.4 billion USD and profit of 146 million USD. This result reflects the financial foundation, market adaptation capacity as well as the effectiveness of the restructuring and productivity improvement process throughout the system.
Mr. Nguyen Huu Tu, General Director of Vietnam National Chemical Group, said that Vinachem's first recognition in the Fortune Southeast Asia 500 ranking in 2026 is a significant milestone for the Group's development process.
According to Mr. Tu, this result is one of the specific results of the process of implementing Resolution 79-NQ/TW dated January 6, 2026 of the Politburo, which sets a target to achieve 50 state-owned enterprises in the group of 500 largest enterprises in Southeast Asia by 2030.
Mr. Nguyen Huu Tu emphasized that being recognized is not only recognition of the efforts of innovation, transformation and sustainable development of nearly 20,000 officials, engineers, and workers at Vinachem, but also reflects the increasingly improved competitiveness of Vietnamese industrial enterprises in the process of regional integration.
Vinachem leaders believe that this result creates more motivation for the Group to continue to promote production and business, innovation, digital transformation, green transformation and development of high-tech fields. At the same time, Vinachem continues to promote the role of a core enterprise of the chemical industry, contributing to building large-scale state-owned economic groups that operate effectively and have regional and international competitiveness.
In its development strategy, Vinachem has developed the VinachemMart e-commerce platform and launched the Vinachem Agriculture platform. VinachemMart aims to promote digital commerce and market connection, while Vinachem Agriculture aims to connect farmers with scientists, experts, businesses and management agencies, thereby improving the efficiency of the agricultural value chain and promoting green and sustainable agricultural development.
In the coming period, Vinachem identifies innovation, digital transformation, green transformation and sustainable development as key growth drivers. The Group prioritizes the development of fields with high technology content and added value such as chemicals for the electronics industry, semiconductors, rare earth extraction, pharmaceuticals, and new materials.
Vinachem also orients investment in research and development centers and concentrated industrial parks in a modern, circular and sustainable direction, in order to improve the competitiveness of Vietnam's chemical industry in the regional and international value chain.
