Causes and forecasts
After increasing in the first session of the week, world silver prices turned down in today's session. The diễn biến of precious metals is influenced by the USD, US monetary policy and new information related to the Middle East situation.
Oil prices fell amid expectations that the US and Iran could resume dialogue. Cooling energy prices partly reduced concerns about inflation, thereby affecting market expectations about the US interest rate level.
Besides geopolitical factors, US monetary policy is still one of the important factors for silver prices. Interest rate fluctuations and the USD often affect the attractiveness of precious metals in the international market.
This week, investors will be following some US economic data, including preliminary data on S&P's Global Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) and a consumer sentiment survey from the University of Michigan.
Statements by officials of the US Federal Reserve (Fed) are also being noticed, as the market seeks further signals about monetary policy orientation in the near future.
In the context of continuously fluctuating silver prices, the diễn biến of the USD, interest rates and geopolitical situation will continue to be factors that the market will monitor.
