Silver prices have continuously fluctuated sharply in recent days, leading to increased buying demand. However, according to Lao Dong reporters' records, on the morning of February 28, many people who came to silver shops in Tran Nhan Tong street area (Hanoi) had to leave when they were informed that they would temporarily stop receiving orders on Saturdays and Sundays, and promised customers to return next Monday.
Sharing with reporters, Mr. Pham Duc Hoang (Kim Lien ward, Hanoi) said that he took advantage of going early because he thought the weekend would be convenient for transactions. "I have been following prices for the past few days, seeing them increase, I wanted to buy a few taels to save. But when I arrived, the store announced that it would not accept orders on Saturdays and Sundays, and would schedule a Monday to return. Going and then having to come back" - he said.
According to Mr. Hoang, due to being busy with work, he finds it difficult to arrange time on weekdays. "Only on weekends can I go. Now I have to wait until next week, and I don't know what the price will be then" - he added.
Similarly, Ms. Le Thi Minh Huong (Lang ward) said that she came to the store at the end of the morning but still could not transact. "I asked to buy silver, and the staff said they would not accept orders at the weekend, only advised on prices and made appointments at the beginning of next week. Currently, the store only pays silver to customers with today's appointment invoices" - she said.
Meanwhile, Mr. Tran Quoc Minh (Hai Ba Trung ward) said that this is the second time he has returned to the silver store this week. He said that last Tuesday he ordered 5 taels of silver and was scheduled to return the goods on August 5, 2026.
Today, at the weekend, I intended to order more, but the store announced that it would not accept orders for two days, Saturday and Sunday. The staff said they would come back at the beginning of the following week to transact" - Mr. Minh shared.
According to Mr. Minh, having to wait a few more days disrupted his silver buying plan. "I have prepared money, just waiting to buy. But I have to accept the store's regulations" - he expressed.
