Coming to the small house of Mrs. Tran Thi Chin (born in 1964) in Dong Phu commune, Long Ho district, where 4 people are struggling to cope with illness and hundreds of thousands of deprivation.
That small house seemed to be immersed in a quiet and suffocating space, because all 4 members had terrible diseases, and none of them were healthy enough to work for a living.
Ms. Chin said that in 2015, a disaster came to her family when her husband, Mr. Nguyen Van Son (born in 1965), suddenly suffered a cerebral vascular accident, depriving him of health and working ability.
The two sons, 25 and 20, were also unfortunately disabled and disabled and were blind. The burden of life is even more severe on Mrs. Chin's thin shoulders.
"I thought those difficulties were over, but in early 2024, news broke down until I discovered that I had pancreatic degenerative disease, which showed signs of cancer," Ms. Chin said sadly.
The small amount of money worked every day was enough to cover the daily food and provisions. Prescriptions or visits must be borrowed from relatives. The doctor prescribed the cost of the surgery to be up to nearly 50 million VND - a figure that was too large, beyond the family's ability to manage.
Currently, the whole family of 4 depends on the love of the neighbor. Mrs. Sau Hoa, a kind neighbor, often shares some rice, vegetables, or silver meals, helping Mrs. Chin's family ease some of the difficulties.
"The small house they are living in is also supported by the state to be built on the land donated by a relative. Her husband and wife can only work for hire, working for hire while they are still healthy, now that illness is surrounding, everything has become even more at a standstill," Ms. Hoa added.
Talking to Lao Dong, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tam - Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Phu commune, Long Ho district - said that Ms. Tran Thi Chin's family is a near-poor household in the commune.
Previously, the family was also supported to build a charity house, but for nearly 10 years, the house has been deteriorating and leaking. Despite certain supports, the difficulties her family is suffering are still too great.
"We hope that you, the benefactors, and kind-hearted people, will extend your arms to help Mrs. Tran Thi Chin's family. Sharing, even small things, is a great source of encouragement, a ray of hope to help them overcome their hardships, have more determination to fight the disease and rise up in life," said Mr. Tam.
