Giving support to an old man collecting scrap metal to support a sick family in Can Tho

Can Tho - The Golden Heart Fund visited and presented the money supported by readers to Mr. Son Hoach.

On June 17, representatives of the Golden Heart Charity Fund visited and presented 1,135,660 VND donated by readers to Mr. Son Hoach (also known as Son Bach, 70 years old, residing in Tai Van commune, Can Tho city).

Mr. Son Hoach is the character in the article "LD26065: Old man picking up scrap metal carries his whole family on a 40km journey every day" published on Lao Dong e-newspaper.

Despite his old age, every day he still pushes his cart to collect scrap metal on a distance of nearly 40km to earn money to support his blind wife, who has been in a wheelchair for many years, along with his disabled son and younger grandchildren in difficult circumstances.

The income of the whole family mainly depends on Mr. Hoach's scrap collection. However, old age and reduced health after many traffic accidents while making a living make the family's life increasingly difficult.

At the support handover ceremony, Mr. Son Hoach expressed his emotion and sent his thanks to the Golden Heart Charity Fund and readers near and far for their concern and sharing with the family's situation. The support money will be used by the family to cover living expenses and medicine in the near future.

Representatives of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tai Van commune said that the support from the Golden Heart Charity Fund and readers not only contributes to reducing immediate difficulties but is also a source of spiritual encouragement for Mr. Hoach's family to continue to overcome adversity and stabilize their lives.
