On September 21, the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund coordinated with the Bac Giang Provincial Labor Federation to present gifts to support people affected by floods in Vu Xa commune, Luc Nam district, Bac Giang province.
Here, Ms. Nguyen Thu Ha - Head of Social Work of Lao Dong Newspaper, representing the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund and the Bac Giang Provincial Labor Federation, presented 30 gifts to people in difficult circumstances who suffered losses due to recent floods. The remaining gifts will be given by the Bac Giang Provincial Labor Federation to other localities in the province.
In addition to the gifts given at the Vu Xa Commune Cultural House, Ms. Nguyen Thu Ha visited the homes of especially disadvantaged households to kindly visit, encourage, share the loss and encourage them to try to overcome the damage caused by storms and floods.
Mrs. Nguyen Thi Tam (64 years old, in Vu Tru Lang village, Vu Xa commune) choked up when receiving the gift. Mrs. Tam said that her family was single and had been living in a dilapidated house for many years. During the recent storm and flood, she had to move to her son's house to stay safe.
"Today's gift helps the family worry less about food for the next few days, reducing difficulties when the rice fields and crops have all died," Ms. Tam added.
Mr. Chu Huy Quyet - Secretary of the Party Committee of Vu Xa commune (Luc Nam district, Bac Giang) - said that after the flood, the government and people are focusing on rebuilding production and stabilizing life.
According to Mr. Quyet, all the people affected by the flood in the commune have more or less encountered difficulties. The people who received the practical necessities are very grateful and express many thanks to the agencies, businesses, and donors who have supported them.
"I believe that with the precious sentiments of the people of the whole country, and the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund towards the storm-affected areas, it will further strengthen the confidence for early stabilization after the natural disaster," Mr. Quyet added.
