Article 3, Circular 73/2024/TT-BCA of the Ministry of Public Security (effective from January 1, 2025) Regulating the work of patrolling, controlling, and handling violations of laws on road traffic order and safety by traffic police stipulates requirements for traffic police officers performing patrolling, controlling, and handling violations.

1. Comply with the provisions of the law on road traffic order and safety; the law on handling administrative violations; this Circular and other relevant provisions of law.

2. Correctly, fully and responsibly perform assigned tasks, patrol and control plans issued by competent authorities; practice democracy in ensuring traffic order and safety, codes of conduct and People's Public Security Regulations.

3. When interacting with the People and those who have violated the law, one must have proper and appropriate etiquette, manners, attitude, and cultural behavior.

4. Timely detect, prevent and handle violations of the law on road traffic order and safety and other violations of the law in accordance with prescribed procedures and authority.

Thus, when patrolling and controlling traffic police must meet the above requirements.
