7 cases of stopping providing network information from August 19, 2026

Clause 1, Article 7, Decree 327/2026/ND-CP stipulating the prevention and handling of information and acts of using information technology, computer networks, telecommunications networks, electronic means infringing upon national security, social order and safety in cyberspace (effective from August 19) stipulates as follows:

1. Preventing, requesting temporary suspension, suspension of network information provision; suspending, temporarily suspending activities of establishing, providing and using telecommunications networks, Internet networks, producing and using radio broadcasting and receiving equipment in the following cases:

a) Information provided and transmitted with content infringing national security, seriously harming social order and safety; inciting violence, demonstrations, and riots against the Socialist Republic of Vietnam;

b) Activities of establishing and providing telecommunications and Internet network services, producing and using radio broadcasting and receiving equipment for the purpose of transmitting unlicensed or illegal information;

c) Detect acts of taking advantage of network infrastructure to intrude, illegally access, illegally modify and delete information, take control of digital devices, and acts of obstructing or disrupting the service provision activities of the information system;

d) When detecting information or telecommunications services that infringe upon national security, oppose the Socialist Republic of Vietnam or are used in violent or riot scenarios;

e) Service providers do not implement management and technical measures to prevent, detect, and prevent or do not implement the prevention and elimination of violating information as requested by competent authorities; arbitrarily change, cancel or illegally invalidate technical measures built and used to protect information belonging to state secrets;

e) Service providers do not prevent or stop providing telecommunications and Internet services or do not arrange technical connection ports as required by specialized forces protecting network security; do not comply with decisions to mobilize part or all of telecommunications and Internet infrastructure in cases of handling dangerous network security situations;

g) Other cases according to the decision of the specialized force protecting network security.

Thus, from August 19, 2026, the prevention, request for temporary suspension, and suspension of network information provision is carried out in the above cases.
