In the context of technology, artificial intelligence
For many years, Information Technology has always been in the group of majors with high benchmark scores at universities, especially at leading technical training institutions.
In the context of strong artificial intelligence (AI) development, many candidates are wondering whether the attractiveness of the industry will change. However, according to experts, AI does not reduce the demand for technology human resources but is creating new requirements for learners and training institutions.
The strong development of artificial intelligence (AI) is changing the way of learning and working in the technology field. This also makes many candidates concerned about the prospects of the Information Technology industry. However, experts believe that AI does not replace human resources but opens up new requirements and opportunities.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Viet Vu - Head of the Faculty of Information Technology and Communications, CMC University, said that the development of AI today does not reduce the demand for human resources but on the contrary, it has become a useful tool in the field of information technology.
In addition, information technology has now become the foundation of most fields such as finance, banking, information security, transportation or smart surveillance. Every industry needs technology human resources, so recruitment demand will continue to increase.
Therefore, the Information Technology and Communications industry still maintains great attraction in this year's enrollment season. Currently, most universities continue to expand enrollment for the Information Technology industry block" - Mr. Vu said.
Mr. Vu affirmed that AI is not a factor that makes candidates hesitant when choosing this major, but said that besides professional knowledge, candidates should equip themselves with more understanding of an application field to enhance competitive advantages.
More importantly, students need to practice self-study skills, teamwork, foreign languages and adaptability to the business environment" - Mr. Vu said.
Schools need to innovate training programs
Prof. Dr. Ha Huy Khoai - Director of Thang Long Institute of Mathematics and Applied Sciences, Head of the Faculty of Information Technology, Thang Long University, said that if IT training is still done in the old way, only focusing on code writing skills, students will face many challenges, because AI can now support code writing very effectively.

However, that does not mean that information technology learners will lose job opportunities. In the digital age, almost every agency and business needs information technology human resources. The current requirement is not only to know how to program but also to have the ability to design systems, ensure network safety and security, understand operating principles and know how to exploit AI effectively. Schools also need to innovate training programs to meet this requirement, helping students have more job opportunities" - Mr. Khoai said.
He advises candidates to choose the major they really love, because when you have passion, you will have the motivation to study and pursue it to the end. If you have not achieved your goals from the beginning, there are still many other paths such as supplementary study, accumulating practical experience and then continuing to study. The important thing is not to give up your goals.
In addition, he also believes that interdisciplinary knowledge is increasingly important. A person studying information technology, if they have more knowledge about economics or other fields, will have more advantages in the labor market.
Therefore, studying two majors or studying a second degree is a suitable trend. Thang Long University also creates conditions for students to complete two degrees in the same time if they meet the credit requirements" - Prof. Dr. Ha Huy Khoai said.
